Ooh, this is a hard one. But I'm going to have to agree with homerhead in that I would very much like to see King Pelican.

I know it's not the same, but here's their show on Saturday. I'm totally spoiled to have these gentlemen in roughly the same congressional district. ;)

King Pelican - https://www.periscope.tv/AustinTXSurfs/1BdxYdRWRvXJX?

I've been lucky enough to see my big-time favorites at least once: Dick Dale, Laika & The Cosmonauts, MOA?, Daikaiju and more. But I've never seen Shadowy Men or the Mermen...tough choice, but even though I would have easily gone Mermen for many years, I'm going with the Shadowy Men today.

Thanks for the post! Yes, it's not the same, but it's good! I've been lucky to see quite a few bands myself, and more than once. I've reflected on this quite a bit and I'd have to say that I'd also love to see the Kilaueas. It's tough. I LOVED seeing the Aqualads. I know a lot of people here rave about MoAM, but I saw them a few times in the early 90s and thought they were (just) OK. (I'm ducking the blows) Back then I thought they were channeling Devo in surf/space form.

So, 4 bands I'd like to see:
Deke and the Untamed Youth (I've seen Deke a few times, but never playing surf)
The Kilaueas
The Fathoms
King Pelican

By far the best shows I've seen were:
Aqualads
Phantom Surfers (1990s)
The Huntington Cads
Satan's Pilgrims (1990s)
Meshugga Beach Party

Wow, this is a lot harder question than I thought! I have also been very fortunate that I've seen quite a few great bands since the 80's resurgence to the present. Then SG101 Conventions came along and I have seen bands I never even dreamed I would see. This year's Convention crossed even more off the bucket list (including the never-dare-to-dream Randy Holden set)! That said, there are three bands I can think of that I wish I could get a chance to see.
They would be the Bambi Molesters, Los Kahunas, and the amazing Vanduras. Jeff , are you listening? Cool

I'd like to see -

Active bands: #1 Phantom Four
Inactive bands: #1 Original Surfaris
Bands, which I have already seen, but would like to see again: #1 Los Twang! Marvels

Thinking about this, I discovered that my list shrunk considerably after going to the Surfer Joe Festival the last two years. Smile
