Unbelievable show! Thank you Chad and all the bands. And glad that I got the chance to meet some more SG101'ers!

Wow, what a show! I had a wonderful time hanging out with Mike (Surf_Skater), and meeting several band members and SG101 regulars. I videoed several performances and will post them as I have a chance to review them. This first one is from the opening act, The Penetrators. I'm really glad I had this opportunity to see them.

You are welcome, Richard! Great job and I hope to see more of you and The Penetrators.

And now, by popular demand, SEAWHORSE!

No matter how much peer pressure I tried to use, I couldn't talk Tim into redeeming his tattoo he won in the raffle. C'mon Tim, S3 logo back piece!!!

Aw Mike, NOW you mention an S3 logo tat! I could live with that, but a deals a deal, and I gave it to Jamie. No backsies.

If I were an evil man, I would never share this video and it would be for purely selfish reasons. I'm afraid that once the world sees how well Chad Shivers plays with The Insect Surfers, the hue and cry will call for Chad to make this arrangement permanent and he will take off for the west coast.

But this is too good not to share. The Insect Surfers induced a euphoric state that left my senses reeling. The world needs more of this... (But, Dave, Jonpaul... hands off! Atlanta needs Chad!)

The credits on the video are incomplete. Here's the full lineup:

Dave Arnson - Guitar
Chad Shivers - Guitar
Jonpaul Balak- Fender Bass Guitar
Dan Buccino - Drums

I'm glad they ran out of lighter fuel before burning everything to the ground. Now we can do it again next year!

two events, one weekend, one me. i managed to go to the 24 hours of LeMons car race in south carolina to support my son's team AND hit the stompfest (even though i missed the first few bands) and then get back to the car race early the next day. they were 4 hours apart and both off interstate 20. the videos say it all. excellent job by all involved.

i've had that ^^^ daikaiju tune stuck in my head for hours now. i love that band but they were a little loud for the size of the room. the sound is better in the video than from where i was standing against one of the walls.

I wish I could double pick like Jamie Galatas! Here's Jamie taking the lead on The Penetrators' Codename: Gypsy. Great job, Jamie!

The Intoxicators! - Phantom Mustang

The music starts at 1:25. I left in the banter to give a sense of how much fun the show was and how much the crowd was digging it.

What a great festival, all the bands 'brought it'...it was a pleasure and honor to be involved !! Great layout as well, it was a spacious stage in a loading dock, you could either be right in the room or outside on the blacktop and grass where they had vendors, etc..
(PS for the video a few posts back, our drummer was Dan Buccino , our original Wash DC drummer !)
Insect Surfers heart Atlanta !

Hi Dave, Thank you for bringing the Insect Surfers to Atlanta! And what a great performance! Watching your live performance of Vaquita gave me chills. I've now watched this video several times and it still gives me chills, every time. (And drummer Dan Buccino is included in the credits, as he certainly should be.)

Thank you so much to all the bands that played, sponsors, vendors, and most importantly those who attended Southern Surf StompFest! As previously mentioned, everything was just top notch from the bands, to the food, to the crowd. In my opinion, the event was hugely successful. It's hard to say exactly but I'd guess we had around 600 in attendance throughout the day. Really the only negative was just how late we ran, but these things happen and I'm still unbelievably happy and can't wait to do it again next year!

Great videos Tim, thanks so much for those! I'm embarrassed that I did not get many photos or any video. I hardly picked up my phone from Saturday until Tuesday. Here's some great stuff I stole from Facebook and I'll try to give credit where I can.

I'd also like to specifically thank my brothers Dave, Jonpaul, and Dan from the Insect Surfers. It was an unbelievable honor to play with those guys and after the shows I felt like a member of the band and sad it was over. In the spirit of my last post (i.e. theft), I made a YouTube playlist of my favorite performances from this weekend. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
