Can anyone recommend some good albums where the rhythm guitar is mixed in particularly clearly? I'm trying to improve my rhythm guitar playing and find it hard to hear the intricacies of the rhythm guitar on most records.

Hello Pierre,
First, here on the site you can download a lot of backing tracks!

Anything by The Shadows

Hasheeda by the Treble Spankers has a variety of great rhythm guitar parts superbly played. And they are very clear.

Not instructive but for an exercise to help build stamina I highly recommend playing along the entire first album by The Ramones.

Good idea Danny...while it may seem illogical on the surface ,there are many good reasons to do this (you could easily say any of the Ramones first 4 albums ) ...its very basic ,2 barre chord shapes ,maybe 3 so its easy to grasp ;getting your foot in the door as a player is important ,you've gotta start somewhere ....repetition builds strength and stamina .
When I listen to the Atlantics , the Shadows , Madiera ,Astronauts etc the rhythm players are as incredible as the lead guitar players ,that right hand technique is not as easy as it seems .

lot of Satan Pilgrim song you ear really weel the rythm part
