I read in the biography of "The Ventures" that they are so popular in Japan that in almost every town in the country, large or small you can find a "Ventures" band and often it will be made up of four housewives.

The Ventures' impact on that country was/is immense.
At one point and maybe even currently they sold more records there than the Beatles and are directly responsible for the Eleki movement and heightened electric guitar production in 1960's Japan.
