Hi

does anyone here have a complete discography for Jon and the nightriders? I cant find one online.

Thanks in advance

dave

this is what I have:

vinyl:
1980 Surf Beat '80
1981 Live at the Whisky
1982 Splashback
1983 Charge of the Nightriders
1990 Stampede!!

cd
1994 Banished To the Beach
1996 Fiberglass Rocket

bet there were 45s...?

you left out my favorite cd 'moving target' 1999

www.surfintheeye.com

I think Stampede was from 1986.

And you left out Raw and Alive 1998 (live album).

Also Undercover from 2000.

There's a very comprehensive (almost scary!) French site for just about every surf/intro band you can imagine. (and then some)

J&TNR's had a web page with a discography, but I think it went down unfortunately. Does anyone know what happened to it? It was on Cat & Charlies home page.

Anyway, here are some CD's off the top of my head, I can look up dates later:

Banished to the Beach
Moving Target
Fiberglass Rocket
Raw & Alive '96
Undercover

I think Stampede was from 1986.

Norton reissued Stampede in 1990 with new cover art and two additional tracks.

The Lively Ones' "Surf Drums," right?

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Warren wins the jackpot! Very Happy

Awesome. So, uh, what's the jackpot?

Admiration among all your other surf-geek friends for having beaten them to the punch, of course.

since its out of print a copy of Banished To The Beach?

so what was on the 2 45 s in the 80's

and there was a 45 of
Thunder over Rincon and
Stringer in the 90's

surf beat 80 is a real ground breaking album, it was the first new surf combo record to come out scene the 60's i think dick dale put out some albums in the 70's but not like "surf beat 80" it was "new wave" man, and when i heard it for the first time i said thats what i've been wanting to do all along and if jon & night riders could do it so could i. so i went out and bought a 64 jazz master for $300 (remeber this was 1980) an i tried to find other musicians who were into the same thing. at the time i was playing rockabilly here in n.y.c. and lets just say it took a little while for people around here to get it. but now forget about it, now every body knows what surfmusic is.

I was kidding, but thanks for the offer anyway. (I bought BttB when Jeff was selling them last year.)

i have to credit the 'live at the whiskey' album for bringing me full bore into surf instrumentals

Thanks guys - It looks like its only a few singles to get to complete the collection - I have colored vinyl single with Ali Baba on it by Jon and the guys too.

anyone have a full list of compilations they were on? or Jon Blairs email maybe? Smile
