Permalink Brian Wilson in Oslo

I saw Brian Wilson and his band at the Norwegian Wood festival in Oslo yesterday. I know he doesn't play instrumental surf, but I have to say: It was kinda cool. And a little strange.

I mean here's a guy that wrote all these great songs about surfing and beach-life, and was in the middle of everything in the 60's. A legend.

All that he did though was sitting behind a keyboard which wasn't even plugged in (the sound from it was super-low anyway), singing and in a way directing the band.

But people loved it! Pepole who grew up in the 60's and teenagers alike.

And when he did a surfer-stomp kind of dance-thing near the end, I saw a glimpe of pure surfculture.

I'm not a huge fan of The Beach Boys, but that was awesome! Very Happy
