Welcome aboard! It just so happens that Randy Holden will be playing at the SG101 surf music convention this August in L.A. We're all very excited to see and hear him. He'll be in the 'Legends of Surf' set amongst many other greats from the original surf era. —Danny Snyder Playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta Formerly a guitarist in The TomorrowMen and Meshugga Beach Party Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF |

Hello. So happy to have found this site/group. My name is Onedin Giraldo and though I enjoy all types of music, I love playing surf/instrumental tunes. I love learning new techniques, the history, etc. of such a great genre. I am lucky because I live in San Jose, CA and there are a number of amazing surf/instro bands in the Bay Area. Look forward to interacting with you on here and crossing paths in the future! —The Me Gustas |

Welcome to all the new members from some time back. I don't think you will find a better forum for the music, gear and knowledge. The common love affair of the music is very prevalent here. |

Hi! Jane Doe here. 'cause I guess I'm just the cleverest gal in the shallow end. First post, (of course) Currently in the middle of modifying a cheap starter guitar into a Partscaster (Fender strat built from Fender parts, rather than bought) with the added bonus of including a Strangle switch in the electronics, (ala the Fender Jaguar~) for that jangly, highpassed sound. So yeah, hi. |

I'm right about to solder back on the output jack, (I removed it to remove the pickguard with the electronics attached) tune and adjust her intonation. Then she's semi-done until I can afford nicer pickups. The cavity on her body is also cut for humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions, so I'm thinking about adding one in the bridge, (with a new pickguard, because I don't even want to try reshaping that plastic) and then one of those pots with a push/pull switch on the lowest tone, to coil split it and bring it back to an SSS guitar from HSS. But, alas, a lack of funds is afoot. Also, to answer your question; Eastern Wyoming. Y'know, the state above Colorado, west of Nebraska, East of Utah? No, that isn't South Dakota, that's north of us. No, we don't still ride horses and have gunfights in the street. At least not regularly. |
