Nice piece of work! It reminds me of the idea of composing through combinatorics as applied by 17th & 18th century thinkers like Marin Mersenne, Athanasius Kircher or Johann Philipp Kirnberger. There were musical card games attributed to Händel, Mozart and others, which allowed to compose "new" Menuetts and other pieces through the combination and permutation of stock phrases. See here for an introduction. —Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |
