I've been listening to their album Invisible Air Cats for awhile now (it's also part of a playlist that includes some Mustangs, Eldanka, Ryders, etc.) and wondered:
What's Alexey and the band doing?
Went to their site and didn't see this before, their first studio album that apparently pre-dates Invisible Air Cats, titled "Halfway to Marseille" - great sound to it.

Alexey, TWO very solid albums! You guys need to start planning NOW to gig your way down to Livorno to the Surfer Joe Festival next year.

Was this one also recorded mostly analog with your Studer tape & the setup you posted about previously?

Thank you very much, guys!
Badger , we are really really want to play at Surfer Joe someday, this would be a great step forward for the band.
Yes, the first album "Halfway to Marseille" was also recorded at the same studio using the Studer tape recorder.
As for the news, rcently we played a big 2hrs (pretty long) gig at the local retro bar, where we were playing all our current material including some very new tunes, check it out (not all 2 hours, of course )
We are also planning to record a professional multi cam video of our newest tune this summer.

Wow! Even I didn't had enough patience to do that

Yes, it could look a bit weird but there is a quite common practice at Russian clubs/bars, if you are lucky, sometimes some really pretty girls starts to dance so you could combine the audio stream with the good visual sequence

Actually, it's always nice to see. Unfortunately more common outside the US. Has been mentioned before, most recently I think by Norm (Boss Fink) and bigtikidude at Surfer Joe during NSSR interview, this difference in enjoyment of the music. Too common in US for people just to sit there & stare at the guitar player's hands instead of finding the beat & letting the music take hold. Thanks again.

I enjoy your music very much. The video brought back memories. Some of the scenery reminds me of the countryside outside Klin. The song is lovely and melancholy.

Yes, there is not much action, the video just brings the mood and putting the viewer in reflexion

I'm pleased to know that someone from the country far away knows the name of the small Russian town like Klin!
I guess the video was filmed somewhere near the St. Petersburg but actually this is quite typical Russian country scene.

Thank you for your free albums!I like your sound and your style..I love the song Iron Birds!Keep up the good work!!
Greetings from Greece!
(I think with some more reverb on the lead guitar the result would be perfect! The sound of tele is very nice!!!!)

We saw the beautiful summer home (?) of Tchaikovsky while we were there. They even have a McDonalds, which serves potatoes with sour cream. Absolutely love the food in real Russian restaurants! We never got as far as St. Petersburg, but the countryside villages are lovely. We were there for five weeks, but spent most of our time in Moscow. This was in 2000.
