Edit: re-posted here and deleted the original I put in the wrong spot...

WeLL I don't think it will surf but it completes my quest from when I was playing only pointy guitars in the 80s. The first non-Teiscoish guitar I ever owned was the NJ series model of this BC Rich. A friend of mine says " As you grow older you try to buy back your youth...." I guess he is right.....lol
It's strung with 8s. first time I have ever tried that light of a gauge. Really different feel.

I am not obsolete, I am RETRO.... Cool

Ive always been a big BC Rich fan. I only have 1 nowadays. Lovely guitar man.

I always though the Bich was a 10 string model (no second course on the low E and A ) .
Ive only played one original BC Rich , I think it was a Mockingbird and I was surprised at how much I liked it ,played like a dream and sounded great . Like you , I'm not much into the pointy guitar thing

I've been hankering for a Loar Whore myself.

Squink Out!

Thanks for the replies. I am glad that I am not the only one.... I kinda thought that it would almost be Surf heresy to post it......lol
By the 90s my original bich was sold and I bought a Yamaha Strat clone. I got rid of it as I didn't like it all. I then bought a beautiful Telecaster and have been a Tele fan since.
This Bich plays very well and sounds great. I am thinking it's the 8s on it as it handles very well.
Any other BC Rich fans out there....don't be shy now.... Hmmm

What a coincidence! I dropped off my '83 neck-thru Mockingbird at the shop this morning for a set up. It was originally white, but it's faded nicely to an antique cream. Dimarzio Megadrive at the bridge and PAF at the neck. I think it's important to have a guitar within reach you can really punish the neighbors with...

I have a Warlock too, but it's in pieces. I'll put it together someday (or, more likely, have someone put it together for me). It has an early '90s NJ series body from the Class Axe days (black with a radioactive green crackle pattern) and a late 90's NJ series neck with a widow headstock. I bought an original Floyd Rose for it and I've got a Dimarzio X2N pickup lying around here somewhere.

Chris

Congratulations on your new guitar by the way. It has a real pretty burst.

Chris

El Guerrero - THanks for the congrats. After 3 years of looking I finally found one that wasn't IMHO overpriced. My first one was all black. THis is a Beautifull substitute. I'm sure if I fire up the old 100watt Beckemer amp I can get the neighbours attention.....lol (Beckemer was a Quebec, Canada Boutique amp Company ...very nice )
I have never played a Mockingbird but they look interesting. Sounds like you have set it up to just plain be loud! Headbang
