To me the turn out was good. But I can't speak for the usual crowd.
Seemed there was a lot of folks on bicycles that stopped for awhile and moved on.
I sat there all day, and sometimes it was crowded, and sometimes it was less than.

If I lived within 200 miles, I'd be at everyone this summer. There's bands I want to see every week end. Smile That is so fabulous and a shame that more don't partake. Confused

I live over 70 miles away. I'd be at everyone if I could. These bands come and put on a show without compensation. Free to whom ever walks by. Who could ask for more?

So many local fans don't come to any, or maybe only one a summer.
I'm perplexed.

Maybe it's time we face facts. Some people are still holding out for free beer.

Cool

One of the issues with the HB Pier shows is that the area off the grass where most of the crowd sits is one big sun reflector. If you sit there for several hours, the sun burns right through your sunscreen and you end up with a major sunburn. The old surf museum shows didn't have this problem.

I've thought about bringing an ez-up (open sided tent) and setting up near the top. May do that for future shows. I always try to make these when I'm in town, but it's not always possible with kids activities, etc... (usually just drag them along with me) but these shows are an amazing benefit to living in so. cal. for sure.

i'd be there every sunday if i lived locally. the pacific ocean makes a perfect backdrop to the stage.

Hers a short video of pre band setup crowd gathering.

The date for the July 24th Huntington Beach pier show has been moved forward to this Sunday, July 10th.
11am to 5:30pm.
A few of the bands had to be changed for the date change.

  1. Black Magic Beach Party
  2. Outerwave
  3. Glasgow Tiki Shakers
  4. The New Waves
  5. The Volcanics
  6. Breakaways

Calls for Olde Skool sunscreen: Sombrero & sarape or poncho. Modern semi-nudism is not recommended dress for long-term exposure.
