My Dutch isn't so good, but doesn't "Tilburg Gratis" mean "free beer"?

Very Cool Wannnes,
but why is it in the Shallow End,
its nothing to be ashamed of to put it in the regular discussion area.

Don - my house is roughly a quarter mile form the abby(sp?)/ brewery where that beer is brewed and it's good shit too!
No the beer isn't free. BUT, they sell pint-cans of "Aldi beer" (a local low budget supermarket) under the very adequat name "daklozenbier" (beer for the homeless).... if you'd have ever lived near a Dutch Aldi, Lidl, Oxfam store, mental care centre or homeless / drugaddicts shelter (and I lived next to all of those) you'd get the joke... good beer though.
Danny - three dutch members, wow. :D. that's actually a 50% increase relate that to the total population of Holland and we're not doing bad at all!
Big!Tiki!Dude! I figured it wasnt really relevant and there's enough to have to keep up with in the music forum as is. - we'll be trying to video this and Ill report in the proper forums.
Raptor (incidently, I read in the paper this morning they've discovered a new prehistoric megabird in china, called it the bigmofoflyingraptor or something) - if you show up, make sure to identify youself.
it's a pretty laid back event, organized by Sjef Naaijkens of "veulpoepers" fame. it's also about 200 yards from my house. PM me if you need directions, if you use satnav, use the adress "hoevense kanaaldijk 38"...

Wannes, wish I could be there drinking an Aldi...or an Amstel. In the US we get Amstel light, but not the full strength. What "reputation" does it have there? Beer for poor sods in the music business?
Believe it or not, we have Aldi here in Memphis, TN. It's popular too! They don't carry Chocomel though.

That's a fail-proof test. I think the gene for understanding the offsides rule is only expressed on the Y chromosome.

The wheather was terrible, still, about 30 people showed up. We played well with plenty flubs but great spirit. in the tent. It was all pretty laid back. the pic below is all I have now but we got some video which I'll put on youtube.
before us there was children's activities at 2pm, i.e. "Clown Ollie". really, absolutly no one showed for him. Imagine a full dressed, red nose - flappy shoes clown, pacing back and forth all on his own in the pouring rain through a muddy field, with a bundle of colorful ballons in each hand. It was arthouse movie surrealism. It was heartbreaking. I really felt bad. At one point he had simply packed his stuff and left, he was gone and no one not even the organizers had seen him leave. we speculated he might have hung himself somewhere.
really bad, but we were really relieved when as much as 30 people showed up for us. And we most likely get two gigs from this one, so that's good. Oh, and since this was basically in our street on a sunday afternoon, my wife and kids got a chance to come which was fun.
