... impressive sound and complexity, especially for a trio ! to my impression, there is a lot of compression on the mix, but i may be wrong (especially as it is only a mp3)...
btw ... i do literally speak at half of the speed of kilian, right?

PS: wtf is this chaos you mounted for recording according to the pic on the previous page?

Thank you! this might actually turn out as a hery helpful remark. We are currently reviewing the mixes and somewhere between the first raw mixes and these "final" versions something "got lost", which I can't quite make out. Could very well be caused by too much compression.

Yes, but since you also speak about an octave lower, next time all Kilian has to do is to speed up the recording. You will probably sound exactly alike then!

Only 10% of the gear in the pictures is actually used. The rest is just there to prevent unneccessary movement.

We are still working on the mix, but it seems we are getting closer to the finish line. Yesterday we met up and managed to finalize the first batch o songs.
In the process we used an old japanese Noris spring reverb, actually the first reverb I ever bought. I tried to use it on stage once, but it was too sensitive to vibrations. It was sitting on a shelf until our drummer spotted it there recently and asked if he could lend it for maybe adding some trashy ambience to some parts, and it actually sounds pretty interesting. Nothing to be used all the time though.

We're through with mixing!
Now we will hand the tracks over to mastering, which shouldn't take too long.

Mastering is done and I really like how the recodings turned out in the end:

We also decided on a title: "Chaos at the Lobster Lounge".
And we are now working on the artwork and the details considering distribution.

Release is getting closer! Very close indeed! We are planning May 21st, that is, if the records arrive in time from the pressing plant... And we still have some details left considering distribution...
In the meantime we finished the artwork and uploaded a few more songs for pre-listening:

I got the album "Chaos At The Lobster Lounge" on Wednesday.
14 tracks, mostly own compositions.
Well done playing and production.
Easy listening!
I do like also the graphics. Simon wrote to me that the person
who did that didn´t want to get credit on the cover.
What a pity.

Thanks for the kind words, Rüdiger!
Although "easy listening" is not the music we are trying to play.
