Bruce Duncan, AKA wetreverb on sg101, and founding member of Longboard Ranch, passed away very suddenly this past Friday.
This is his Facebook page, for those who want to express their condolences to his family.

Well, I have to say that even though he was a very outspoken member here and on other Surf Forums, that I didn't often agree with that I am sad to hear this.
Rest In Peace Bruce

That's very kind of you, Jeff. You're a swell guy. I saw his craigslist ads up FOREVER as he was trying to get LBR going again and felt not what I'd call sorry for him, but more like- thankfully that's not us! But also, yeah, sorry for someone who loved surf so much, of course.
(The only other thing I knew about him was he called a LBR band member's wife a bossy and domineering bitch right on their LBR Facebook page in a status update!) Anyway, he sounded like a character and I missed all the hubbub on this forum you referred to. Must have been entertaining! It sounds like he really loved his band and he got really hurt to see it go. Poor guy.

I hope Bruce is at peace. Early in my career as a surf guitarist he was very supportive and it meant a lot to me at the time.

I guess the hyperlink was too obscure. His Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/bruce.duncan.182 People are leaving condolences. As Jeff said, Bruce's daughter, Sara, announced her dad's passing.

...sorry to hear this...
Years ago I had contact to him. I bought the LBR CD's via ebay from him. We had discussions about the Squier Jagmaster. we had the same model in candy apple red. He gave me a few good tips for modding it. ...I played this guitar yesterday. He played this Jagmaster on the LBR albums and was very proud of the good sound. (and they have got a real good sound for me) He was very deep into surf music!
We also had a few serious good emails/discussions about women/men and relationships. And we met each other in person in 2006 when we played together with LBR. Good memories! And I bought a '62 Reverb Unit from Bruce years ago. For me always a reliable man in many spheres. He had his own opinions, sometimes definitely not the same like me, BUT I like it a lot when someone is true to himself and to other people.
RIP...
— Twang cheers!

Fir those unable to read Sara's post, here it is:
This weekend has been an emotional, heart-breaking blur. My dad, my first love Bruce Duncan suddenly, unexpectedly passed away on Friday. He was a talented musician, recognized (along with his band Longboard Ranch) as one of the top classic surf musicians of all time. My dad shared his love for music with me; he would perform various oldies for me and I was his #1 fan. I know almost every oldie because of my dad. He was intelligent; he strongly valued education and inspired me to want to learn and to be creative. No matter what my dreams were, he supported me. He was never afraid to be honest and genuine. Though he didn't always make the best choices, he remained optimistic, loving, and adaptable. I will love and miss you forever. Losing your father is like losing a part of you that you can never get back.
It was accompanied by this photo montage.

Wow. Sad news. If it wasn't for Bruce, and (LBR), I never would have hooked up with Rob Woolsey. Rob played with LBR for a while. Cheers my friend. RIP
