Got some tickets to see Nile Rodgers & Chic at this July's Halifax Jazz Fest. I am SO excited.
Rev Hank Trio has also been booked for the Fest. We will be doing mostly Jazz standards but will slip a surf tune in.

Rest assured Nile is still playing guitar!
Ted, that is a cool first concert! I have never seen him live but have been a big fan of his work with Chic, Duran Duran, Bowie, Daft Punk, etc.

Nile Rodgers is an amazing player. Such a smooth, subtle yet strong playing style.

The Nile Rodgers/Chic concert was last night and boy oh boy was it fantastic! They are the tightest and funkiest band I have ever heard. Nile is a phenomenal guitar player (playing his famous Strat), as were the rest of the band. The non-Chic, Nile penned songs, were better than the originals: I'm Coming Out, We are Family, Get Lucky, Let's Dance, Like a Virgin, and Notorious were hit outta the park. Go see them if you have the chance, you will not be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to see Nile Rodgers at a small venue where he chatted with the audience, told stories about his life and career - and played a bit as well! He was charming, funny, interesting and inspirational - and a little bit talented too!
The number of people he has been successfully involved with (helping re-launch some of their careers) is astonishing. His autobiography is well worth a read as well...
