Permalink Playing Rumble with 2 Guitar players?

New Topic

Any bands out there ever preform Rumble with 2 guitars? Or maybe even see a band do it? I was wondering how they differentiated the playing, or if they just doubled the guitar for more power.

Yes... and Rumble does have two guitars on the record.
There is an acoustic quarter-note rhythm that is quite prominent if you go back and check it out.

I just found this rehearsal recording of Pollo Del Mar doing Rumble. Slow and sludgy.

I have played it with another guitarists on several occassions...4 guitars once (plus 2 basses, and 3 drummers). I like all the guitars playing the same thing. It is mighty powerful.

Wondering about two guitars playing "Rumble," eh? If you can log into Facebook, you can check out info about the upcoming 13 GUITAR RUMBLE in Burbank, CA. Happens every year around the time of Link's birthday. You have not really had the full impact of "Rumble" played live until you hear it with 13 guitars. At the same time.

LOL, jeez. I didn't realize.

Here's last year's big Link Wray b'day bash finale. See how many faces you can recognize (hint: Davie Allan is one of 'em):

definitely does. I just re-listened to the original. Surprised I didn't notice it.

How about 20 guitars playing Rumble?
