The song should sound familiar to fans of Los Twang Marvels, though it's an old latin classic. I was just surfin' around on youtube checking out hammond players and when I watched this woman's hands move my jaw dropped. Incredible musicianship. I'm sure the rest of the girls were miming along, but this lady was really slamming those keys.

I've heard of Ethel Smith, via the HamTech (Hammond [organ] Technical) e-mail list that I'd subscribed to, at one time. Be sure, also, to check out some Jimmy Smith videos, if there are any at YouTube. Tony Monaco (Tony Monaco Trio) is a current Hammond player I've seen live at The Jazz Kitchen, in Indianapolis (Summer NAMM was in Indy, in 2007). I have a Hammond M2 spinet organ, but I seriously doubt I'd reach the level of Ethel Smith, Jimmy Smith or Tony Monaco.

I've been slaughtering Tico Tico for several years now. Check out Frank Vignola's take on it on youtube.
