Since our listeners can't seem to get enough of our countdown lists we added two new ones;
the American Top 101 and the European Top 101.
Do you want to contribute your personal favourites to these lists and help decide what the best instrumental surf revival tracks from these territories are?
Go to the following webpage and fill out your Top 10's:
http://www.northseasurfradio.org/#!vote/cvsr
Please feel free to post your personal Top 10's in this thread to show them to your fellow SG101 members but please note that they need to be filled out on our website to count.
More about this change in our voting mechanism can be found HERE.

The American Top 101 is a list with Surf Music tracks from the USA.
The European Top 101 is a list with Surf Music tracks from the Europe*
- Europe is a unique continent, which is not surrounded by water from all directions, and has an overland border with the neighbouring Asia. Physiographically, it occupies the northwestern part of the large landmass known as Eurasia and surrounded from the north by the Arctic Ocean, from the west by the Atlantic Ocean, from the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and from the southeast by the Black Sea.
Definition of correct border between two continents was a big question for geographers and politicians. Nowadays it is commonly delineated by the Ural Mountains in Russia, the Caspian Sea and Caucasus Mountains.
Totally now Europe includes 51 independent states. Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are the transcontinental countries, partially located in both Europe and Asia. Armenia and Cyprus politically are considered European countries, though geographically they are located in the West Asia territory.
Alphabetical list of countries in Europe:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City (Holy See)

Why these two new lists?
1) A lot of people have been asking me to broadcast the tracks that have not made it into the Surf Revival Top 101, #102 and beyond. With dedicated lists for Europe and the USA this gives those tracks that never made it into the Surf Revival Top 101 a chance to enter. It also gives more bands a chance to make it into a countdown list at North Sea Surf Radio. With these lists we can give an even wider overview of the great surf music that is around in these territories.
2) A lot of people have been asking to submit a Top 15 or Top 20 in stead of a Top 10 for the Surf Revival Top 101. With these new lists they will be able to submit 20 in stead of 10 surf revival tracks.

From the North Sea Surf Radio website:
Coming Saturday and Sunday we will broadcast two new countdown lists; The American Top 101 vs The European Top 101. Why versus? Because we will broadcast the lists alternating every hour to give an even better impression of the differences between American and European surf music. DJ Jonpaul will kick off with the first hour of the American Top 101 followed by the first hour of the European Top 101 presented by DJ Phantom.
So make sure to tune in coming weekend to hear the best 202 surf music tracks coming from the USA and Europe.
The "American versus European" format, with the lists alternating every hour, is an interesting twist. I'm looking forward to a super cool listening experience. Plus, between the two lists, there should be a ton of new tracks to enjoy.
Thank you, Niels, Jonpaul, DJ Phantom and the rest of the team at NSSR for constantly thinking up new shows (like "Crossing Borders") and other innovations to shake things up.

Congratulations to all the bands that made the American and European Top 101 lists! What a wonderful day of surf music listening.
Special congratulation to Satan's Pilgrims for the band with the most entries in the top 101 with 10 (!!!) and Ivan as MVP for 16 entries with The Space Cossacks and The Madeira (as Jeff said, Holy Cow!!!)
Just seven bands provided more than half the entries in the American Top 101. That's an impressive feat!
10 - Satan's Pilgrims
9 – The Space Cossacks
7 – The Maderia
7 – Jon & The Nightriders
7 – Slacktone
6 – Los Straitjackets
6 – Man Or Astro Man?
Niels and JonPaul, it was a great idea to separate the lists to give us the opportunity to hear a lot of bands that wouldn't have made it to a combined list and, as always, great job Djing the shows. Kudos!

Thanks Silverflash, that was excactly the idea behind these lists. So many amazing tracks fell just out of the range of entering the Surf Revival Top 101 and now everybody can finally enjoy those tracks too.

Listened to all six hours today, and loved every minute of it! Thank you very much, Niels and Jonpaul! You guys have gotten SO GOOD at this stuff by now! It's a true pleasure to listen to you, and I'm sure it must have been a LOT of work to pull all this together - my hat's off to you! And thank you all who voted for the Space Cossacks and the Madeira, as well as Silverflash for the above recap. I'm in disbelief. And VERY honored. Thank you.
Really looking forward to tomorrow!
