Hi folks, I know this guitars are pretty popular among surf guitar players.
So, anyone knows about a source to get the piece that is broken and maybe the bar?
Everything else is ok.

I think I remember this being discussed on this site in one of the numerous threads on these guitars, but a Google search turned up this thread over at Offset Guitars:

It was out of stock at the time, but if you go to Yamaha's service site you might have some luck. Good luck.

I took the back panel off my SGV800 the other day to see what was beneath hood. I was surprised by this odd bracket taking the spring tension. I can see why it would be prone to breakage and is the first thing to go wrong with these awesome little axes. I guess Yamaha decided a full Strat-type steel block supporting 3,4 or 5 springs would be too massy and create the wrong tone. It's really an odd combination of Strat and Bigsby/Mosrite design. Whoever thought of a floating tailpiece?

A few years ago I managed to get a vibrato assembly for my SGV build. Yamaha Scandinavia have great service and decent prices.
If you are lucky Yamaha still got these.

15,000 yen = $138.17
Seems reasonable, although the handle is not original. But good luck in communicating with the seller.
