Permalink Selling all my great amps! MusicMan112 Sixty-Five, BF Twin Reverb, Ampeg SS -140C, Tweed Gibson GA 20T

Yes, I want to raise money to buy a Brownface head (or clone like a Gomez Surfer) and I'm willing to part with all these cool amps to be able do it! PM me or answer here.

Squink Out!

WOw! Overwhelming response... (echoes of cave dripping, occasional bat squeak)
So I traded away my GA-20T for a Gretsch 6159 2x12", which just might suit the current combo I am playing with.

That leaves the Music Man 112 Sixty-Five and Ampeg SS 140C, BF'd SF Twin Reverb, if anyone is interested.

Squink Out!

It's not that we're not interested, we're poor! (or on a different continent) The best I can do for now is to give you a bump to keep you on top of the list. Hope you'll find a good home for them.

Thanks Gillette & kruel! I haven't gotten any other responses yet from cl either, and that's a big market here in LA. there are some rich guys out there among us, though! Lawyers who surf.

I'd love a backup Musicman, but I'm guessing that Squinkistan is not in Europe?

I'd hang on to that amp if I were you - the used market of them here has dried up, and people are starting to ask silly money. I got mine re-capped and it sounded so good I couldn't stop playing it for about 3 weeks!

Da,
Indeed, Squinkistan is a landlocked country. I saw it on a map once, maybe it was in a dream, where the region of Inland Seas in Central Asia was much expanded. Squinkistan lies there, somewhere East of Turkestan and West of China. Most maps don't show it.

And yes, the price of all good old amps is subject to rise, and Music Man are only at the cusp of steep inflation.
My only motivation for selling this excellent piece of vintage gear is that the cost of Brownface/clones has already escalated some time ago.
So I am willing to sacrifice several good amps in excellent condition to purchase one that sounds the way I need it to, for now.
Currently, I am loving the sound of new-to-me Gretsch 6159 "Bass Amp" I traded for my Gibson GA-20T Ranger. Twice the amp at 2x12" & 35W RMS. It may be able to go toe-to-toe with my bandmate's Brownface Banmaster clone. But it doesn't have that tremolo.

Which amps, do you have pictures? descriptions? Prices?

Poke,
I have for sale:

Music Man 112 Sixty-Five, ca. 1974 in nearly new condition, loaded with a 100w Jensen Blackbird AlNiCo 12, COBTEK "winged C" EL34s & 12AX7
asking $750

1980s Ampeg SS-140C, 140W Solid State Stereo Chorus, the answer to the Roland Jazz Chorus, "con cojones" needs some servicing (which I will probably have done very soon) but sounds awesome in both channels, clean and Death Metal. Has original speakers, new reverb pan.
asking $375

1969 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface, recently serviced and Blackfaced. Available either in current custom Dual Showman head cab (aqua sparkle naugahyde) or in original combo configuration.
price TBA

I will post other pics later - there seems to be a problem with the server right now. Thanks for your interest. PM me with email and I can send them direct.

Is this a left coast sale?

Deepest pocket of the Southwest north of San Diego. Lalaland. Place of many roads. Bay of smokes.
Yep.

Yes, where they worship the godlet "Osakar" at the replica Gates of Babylon.

I'd hang onto that Gretsch, those must be pretty rare, maybe try a Catalinbred Valcoder tremolo. I'll bet it sounds as good as it looks.

At this rate I will. It's a fine specimen really rocks my Mosrite. Not very good with Jaguar set up for surf though.
I find that adjusting the tone controls with both channels bridged heightens the tremolo effect to something resembling Brownface harmonic tremolo. I used to do that with the little Gibson and before that with a huge Epiphone combo.
Anyhow, I have been bitten by the Brownface bug and am willing to sacrifice even an amp as cool as this Gretsch.
