Los Straitjackets Rock & Roll Summer Camp Aug 7 â 9.
3 Days and 3 Nights of Twangtastic Guitars, Dancing Pontanis, Rock En Espanol, Midnight Jam Sessions, After Hours DJ Dance Parties and Much More! For reservations and info, go to www.straitjackets.com/summercamp
The Rock & Roll Summer Camp will feature 3 completely different nights of entertainment. Night 1 will be an all-instrumental Los Straitjackets show featuring your favorite Los Straitjackets instrumentals from the depths of their repertoire. Sign up and let us know what you want to hear.
Night 2 will add the World Famous Pontani Sisters. They will bring a steamer trunk full of costumes and perform their unique routines with Los Straitjackets. MC Big Sandy may also be persuaded to do the "Peppermint Twist."
Night 3 everyone will hop a chartered bus to Albany to see the 'El Fabuloso" double bill of Los Straitjackets with Big Sandy and Los Lobos. There will be Rock En Espanol, and then some. Back at the camp there will be the closing night Fan Jam. Bring your axe!

Hi,
Thanks for posting the News Item about the Los Summer Camp. We appreciate the support.
Right now, a dozen people have signed up for the camp. We have room for only 75. So, it's going to be like a private 3 day party of friends and fans of the band. In addition to the evening shows, there will be guitar workshops during the day with Eddie Angel and Daddy O Grande as well as a Pontani go-go dance workshop.
It's gonna be a blast. Come join us!

if i wasn't already signed up for national guitar workshop ( eddie angel is our class guest)........i'd be there. hopefully it will happen again next summer and i will definitely be there........carol

Guess I'll be the first to declare... Yup, I'm going!
I work hard at a responsible day job, but I like my time off, and I've got the makings of a great rock'n'roll summer in the works.
As a couple of you here will know, I play in two local bands, and the Great Lakes Surf Battle (I played both nights in different bands) starting things off just right. Check out Tiki Tena's photos on the Great Lakes Surf Battle thread.
Now, I've got a couple of more weeks of work, but then I'm off for a two week family vacation to the Outer Banks in July (Hi, mom!)-- come back to a couple of gigs and work for another week or two-- ship the kids to their grandparents' for August-- check out the rock'n'roll summer camp with my lovely spouse for three days & nights in a geat setting, with entertainment provided by two of my favorite bands and special guests-- come back to play a couple of more gigs and eventually get back to work for six or seven weeks, and then I'm scheduled to go to Belgium in October...
So, the LS summer camp is shaping up to be one part of really great summer. I'm a happy guy!!
