That's a great deal on a great amp! BTW, Fender didn't start the "Dual" designation face plate until 1967.

Did you sell it? If not would you consider shipping it to France?

I still have it but I'd rather not ship it. I sold the dual cab to this to a guy in Texas and it arrived destroyed. Sad

hi, how can distinguish from single to dual showmans without the name dual on the faceplate?
i've a 66 showman , early months ( i think but im not sure january - green ink label ) , ive his single 15 66's cab but now reading this im not sure if is single or dual... the is marked 66 but i dont know his complete history ...

thank you
Michele

cash & trade considerations?

Michele,
I had the same questions and was given this information on output transformer codes to distinguish between the early 8 ohm single Showmans and unmarked 4 ohm Dual Showman.

Single Showman 8 ohm OT code 022897 or 125A30A
Dual Showman 4 ohm OT code 022889 or 125A29A

Hope it helps some and let me know what type you have Smile

I'm not looking for any trades just want to sell it. I have a potential buyer right now but if it doesn't work out I can let you know if you're still interested.

Question... i've to change all the tubes... you know are the best for the showman?

TAD 6L6 GC for power.
There you go.

I don't really know the answer to that. On my Showman I had a JJ set put in all across, that's what was recommended to me and I've had no issues. I've heard Tung Sol and Sovtek are good as well. SG101 member DGG built custom amps and my guitar players played a couple of his at some shows and they sounded great but IDK what brand he used in there.
