So, as luck would have it, a very very generous kiwi from our NZ site has GIVEN me this bear bones tele to desecrate...ah hem ....modify.
And it's allready sparkly!

Hey, some great looking guitars here! I just can't get away from Tele's though, tried a JM and a Jag and nether felt or sounded as good as a Tele to me. But I want a trem for surfing! Last edited: Jan 26, 2016 16:26:00 |

I love the bigsby on my surfboardcaster. But for stay-in-tune smooth vibrato, I just don't think you can't beat a Jag/JM style floating trem that has been properly set up with no buzzes or rattles etc. So some combo of that with a tele would be suhweet methinks —He who dies with the most tubes... wins |

As far as I'm concerned, a bigsby belongs on a tele. Sg's get a pass too, but it had best be a b7. |

The Vibramate/Bigsby combo works well on Teles as long as you do 2 things. First, you must get the American made Bigsby B5 (the import B50 won't line up with the Vibramate). Second, you MUST shim the neck to achieve a proper setup. —Otto & The Ottomans |

Thanks guys! Since I posted I have found out that there was a MIJ released about 6 years ago that has a bigsby from the factory... it's a beauty. (Google TL62B-bigs) it appears to have been extremely limited though, but comes lovely blue and green colours (as well as the mundane black, red and sunburst) |
