Oh yeah, bunches!
The '65 RIs... These are maybe 99% of what vintage Fenders felt like when they left the factory back in the day. I think with aging and plenty of honest play and setups these will feel the same in 40-50 years.
They just haven't nailed the vibrato spring, nobody has. Mastery has gotten closest but still not perfect.

Cool. I feel the same about the '65 RI Jazzmaster. I couldn't bond with the '62 Jazzmasters when we had the Aquanauts going the first time. But the '62 Jags were OK for some reason. I'm thinking I'm going to really like a'65 RI Jag if I ever get my hands on one.

While I am quite happy with my current guitars, I am still silently dreaming of a Johnny Marr Jag. I'd replace that terrible bridge, but otherwise would keep it stock.
Someday...

Bill, have you thought of parting one together? I've done a handful recently.
Vintage duo-sonic/mustang/musicmaster neck for $250, $350 for an MJT body(or buy a unfinished body and finish yourself) + parts.

I've toyed with the idea. I've put together or had a put together for me guitars in the past. I really do enjoy owning a mass produced model that should anything happen to mine I can just go buy another.

Here's Taylor Swift playing one. If that doesn't inspire you to get one, nothing else will!
Now I'm considering sending mine back.

...couldn't resist.
PS - I think it's pretty great Taylor is playing the Jagmarr. May cost me my membership card here, but I got no beef w/ the young lady.

Last week I picked up a '62 AV RI Jag. Last time I owned a Jag was probably 8 years ago. So it's very nostaligic playing something that was once your #1 but you haven't touched in quite a number of years.
My favorite strings for the Jag were Thomastik Infeld 12s there's only one place around here that has them so I drove up to Chicago Music Exchange. While there I tried the Johnny Marr Jag. Right off the bat I liked the neck better than the '62 RI.
I couldn't stop thinking about that guitar all week and ordered one online for a killer deal on a new one. It comes in around 8.5lbs I wish it was a little lighter, but aside from that I have no issues with this guitar. I've put the AV '62 up on eBay.
For the record a few posters back said the Johnny Marr signature was under the finish. On the one I tried at CME and the one I purchased online the signature is ontop of the finish. Very easy to remove waterslide decal.
