I have to make a trip to Atlanta for one of these.

Wow, thank you all for your kind words, they sure do mean a great deal to me. I love playing these shows, it helps to get me in the Christmas spirit and gives me the opportunity to play music with some very dear friends, several of which I've been playing with for 8 years now. Thanks to all those who came out, I'm sorry to be so late with this but have been recovering from doing 5 shows (including a total of 6 Beach Boys sets and 5 Ventures sets!) in 8 days, on top of everyday life.

NeedMoreReverb, I'd recommend coming out for the festival in September (16-17). We're already working on some great stuff including our first visit from a very special overseas group (fingers crossed).

In the meantime here's what we got cooked up for the first show of 2016!

While I'm playing catch up, here's some highlights from November's Stomp:

The Squares - 1995-2002
The Mystery Men? - 2012-
MOONBASE - 2012-2017
The KBK - 2017-2022
The Frigidaires 2021-
Southern Surf Stomp!

Awesome re-cap Chad!
The first show of 2016 looks killer.
As always, I am in awe and thankful for all you do for this community.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks guys! It's great fun to relive these nights!

Last night was a blast; Dick Dave and the Scavengers sounded like fire, Senator Artie Mondello played a short but loud and raucous set, and The Original Shake Charmers are just FUN! Of course it's all about the live show with the Shake Charmers but if they had a proper recording there would definitely be a fuss made about those guys.

Next month is going to be a BIG one. 2015 StompFest (and Instro Summit) favorites The Beech Benders will be coming down from Nashville to play their first regular Stomp. Gemini 13 will be celebrating the release of their debut CD and we also have Atlanta rockabilly legends The Blacktop Rockets.

10-4 and well said Chad. A lot of we locals didn't let a bit of rain spoil our good time!

These monthly events at Kavarna are really exceptional. You are doing a marvelous job!

Wet reverb is way better than no reverb.

Next month, oh boy.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Good times...

And as always, Thanks to Jamie for ALL the great videos!

Last night's Stomp was truly great, and possibly one of our best with a packed house and three absolutely smokin' bands. The Beech Benders are the complete package with catchy, fun, and well written songs and a captivating stage presence. Now if only we can get a damn proper record!

Here's what we've got cooked up for next month:
image
Electric mandolin led Ouroboros Boys were another StompFest favorite and speaking of stage personas, Buck McPherson leads his band The McPherson Struts with a stand up drum kit from behind which he sings (both of which look incredibly difficult to me) and they play hillbilly infused rawk 'n' roll, and Atlanta's favorite progressive instrumental surf combo MOONBASE return with our first show since September where we will be debuting a new tune to boot.

Boy was that ever a great Stomp! Knocked it out the park with that one Chad.

I can't believe I got home at 1:00 AM and was out in Greensboro, GA riding my dirt bike at 10:30 this morning.

I am nuts................no doubt about it.

Jeff, Don Schott came down and set up all that stuff. Hopefully, we'll hear some of what he got in the near future.

Well, the crowd for our 24th(!) Southern Surf Stomp! was a little lighter than I would have liked but the bands were kick ass.

Next month we have King Pelican flying in (pun intended) all the way from San Antonio, TX just to play our little shindig! How cool is that?
