What's up with all the grill threads lately? ....
Hi!
This happened:

Started small of course, then my kids discovered it .
It's uncanny how much these things are un-fixable. It's those most unforgiving plastic threads, that will do anything to break free of alignment. Can't glue, can't sow, can't shame into place. Only strengthen the backside with duct-tape, but how does that look. I'm staring at this tear, and it's like a hole in my soul.
It's a "15 Showman cab. When I built it, I went all in, and made a big order from Mojotone, but now I really rather not pay their ridiculously high shipping rate. I also need only half the 1yard*57" piece they sell, for $37.
BTW, I took the opportunity to finally install some insulation. It's a generic acoustic foam, 5cm thick. I'll see how it performs. I cut the side pieces about 12cm inwards to allow free airflow into the tone-ring spacers.

So, does anyone have a piece for sale please? If in Europe, even better.
I'll only need about ~100X75cm, that's ~40X30". Rolled up nicely it can be become a very minimal package.

I just installed gold grill cloth on my Showman cab, and I'm feeling with you. I got mine from Tube Town in Germany, they apparently only sell it properly sized for Showman cabs:

I can't recommend them enough, but I don't know what their international shipping policies are. The catalogue-photo on their website might be a bit miss-leading; on my cab it looks just the same as yours.

Thanks Roy! I did see that from Tube-Town, and already emailed them with an example of the grill, and they replied that it is NOT the same as Mojo's, which the one I need, with the gold stripe.

Unfortunately their shipping is quite expensive too, well, for a piece of cloth!
So is it or is it not the same?

It may very well be the same, and then it might also be slightly different. Looks the same to me, though. There definitely is golden thread woven into the fabric, but it doesn't photograph well. Here are some photos of my cab, both with and without flash (and, more importantly, with Mina, the Lazer Cat):

I found that some sites have photographed the back of the cloth. Nearly the same but not quite. Maybe this is the same thing. Turn it over and you have the pattern you're looking for!

I still have a few scrap pieces left; if you PM me your address I'll send you some.

Thanks for your input, Gilette. Yep, appears like the pic from Mojotone is of the backside while the pic at Tube-Town is frontal. Still leaves me wondering why they replied it wasn't the same... maybe didn't want to take chances.
I'll take your word for it, Roy! The pics of your cab convinced me that it's close enough, if not exactly the same.
If you have a piece large enough, then this is marvellous! I'll be delighted to buy it from you, exactly the solution I was looking for! Let's PM.

It was my pleasure, Ariel
Maybe the grill cloth will fade a little bit when exposed to sunlight. The difference is barely noticeable in the photo.

You might consider turning the amp hooks around with the opening facing backwards, so that when you tilt the kit back it can’t slip out.

Well, problem solved. Kids are educated to stay away as if it is live fire.
Incredible amount of work. Annoying to do it all over, just to get where you started.
The grill from Tube-Town has a very slight bit of warmer tone to it than the one from Mojo-Tone.
Non of that matters now. It's whole, and I can finally sleep.

I wouldn't notice it if I didn't know it! Yeah, I noticed a slight fading effect on the older head. Classic way of spilled beer and cigarettes, is currently out of my reach.

Thanks man! No kidding, When it's your one and only, you can get a little emotional you know...

It was right before! Who did that
Thank you, of course! I guess last time I assembled it reversed. I didn't pay too much attention, because I never use the tilt back legs anyway (they're there only to increase the chrome content...), I usually use a platform.

The amp actually "floats" a little on four cubes of the same material you see in the next pic, inserted into cutouts on four corners of the platform. It provides great isolation and vibration control.
Here's the acoustic foam I just installed. It's a relatively solid material. Notice the trims near the tone-ring openings.

Cheers everyone!
