Permalink Crazy Aces FREE Download - Christmas Medley

New Topic

We actually recorded this last year in a rushed sort of way for a local radio station but liked it enough to re-mix and re-master so we're giving it away as a free download on Soundcloud at the link below.
Hope you enjoy it and feel free to share it.
It's rough and sloppy but lot's of fun.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thank you!

Wow, Jeff! I already thought "Drunken Christmas" was a cool & fun tune. Amazing what a little mixing work can do; night & day. Thanks so much for making that available.
Into the rotation. Thumbs Up

Very cool

I had been putting off going out for some Christmas shopping. That was just what I needed to get fired up, head out, and take on the shopping loonies!

Very nice indeed.

Christmas Cheers!

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Thanks everyone for listening and downloading, if you did.

Wes, yes, it's amazing what some extra time to turn knobs can do. We had to record it and mix it so fast last year and it didn't have real mastering. Just yours truly trying to punch up the output.
Amateurs - can't be trusted, LOL.

Ed, if this was your Christmas shopping soundtrack I hope you didn't get too aggresive out there...?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Was just able to listened, I love it. I do love me some instrumental christmas music, I hope the 'Verb can record some. We do a good Carol of the Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas(transitions from 3/4 to 4/4!), and an Auld Lang Syne.

Nice!!! Big Grin

Thanks Jake and Dave for listening.

We're thinking of recording some Christmas/Holiday tunes "for real" next year.
No last minute rush business and with a real drummer.
We'll see...

Cheers,
Jeff

Outstanding arrangement - L O V E the style changes with each 'song'/part, and really impressed with how it all still fits without sounding like the needle skipping across the platter.

Enjoyed that. A lot! Thumbs Up

Just a reminder for any new forum members, this Christmas medley is available as a free download at the above soundcloud link.

I still love the spirit of this recording.
Kiwamu and I only had a few hours to do it.
We had never played the medley before and the recording hinged on me being able to actually play a drum track which is far from an instrument I admit to being able to play.
I came up with the arrangement the night before on acoustic guitar, Kiwamu came by the next morning and we decided to give the attempted drum performance a 45 minute window. If we (me)couldn't get the drums in that time frame then we'd just go get lunch and call it a fun go.
Somehow the drums happened, albeit punkish and sloppy and we quickly put down the guitar tracks, Kiwamu nailing the rhythm track in two takes while reading a chart I made, wow! I played bass after Kiwamu left and in a whirlwind engineering, playing experience we had a Christmas medley.
I still hear us laughing and feel the lightness of being, the simple fun that this was/is.
Many of you have already heard it, thank you for listening.
To any new listeners - enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Cheers,
Jeff

So delighted this track was on the DC Comp. (The comp is really great; was background music last night during arriva/grazing of the table & pre-gifts.)

Track 16 is especially popular & that's still a great tale Jeff. You & Kiwamu are kinda like a good short-stop/second-base combo in this regard.
