Wes, yes, it's amazing what some extra time to turn knobs can do. We had to record it and mix it so fast last year and it didn't have real mastering. Just yours truly trying to punch up the output. Posted on Dec 24 2016 12:28 PM Just a reminder for any new forum members, this Christmas medley is available as a free download at the above soundcloud link. I still love the spirit of this recording. Kiwamu and I only had a few hours to do it. We had never played the medley before and the recording hinged on me being able to actually play a drum track which is far from an instrument I admit to being able to play. I came up with the arrangement the night before on acoustic guitar, Kiwamu came by the next morning and we decided to give the attempted drum performance a 45 minute window. If we (me)couldn't get the drums in that time frame then we'd just go get lunch and call it a fun go. Somehow the drums happened, albeit punkish and sloppy and we quickly put down the guitar tracks, Kiwamu nailing the rhythm track in two takes while reading a chart I made, wow! I played bass after Kiwamu left and in a whirlwind engineering, playing experience we had a Christmas medley. I still hear us laughing and feel the lightness of being, the simple fun that this was/is. Many of you have already heard it, thank you for listening. To any new listeners - enjoy and Happy Holidays! (The comp is really great; was background music last night during arriva/grazing of the table & pre-gifts.) Track 16 is especially popular & that's still a great tale Jeff.
