Currently reading: Silence by Shusaku Endo. I'm half way through it and I just picked it up yesterday! What an amazing piece of literature! Endo is called the Japanese Graham Greene and I can see why. Its a book I've been wanting to read but then forgot about it. But Scorcese is making it into a movie to be released next year and so that reminded me. I'm really looking forward to the movie |

I just bought Bill Carson - My Life and Times with Fender Musical Instruments. It was on my list for some time. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1884883109/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 —https://www.facebook.com/groups/722422647891279/ Last edited: May 12, 2015 06:27:35 |

Rummaging through the acoustic-room bookshelf in the corner at Dave's, pushing aside the unwanted volumes of Gibson stuff, and snagged Smith's 'Fender: The Sound Heard 'Round the World' - still had the DVD in the back cover pocket with the vintage factory "tour" footage. So I'll be watching that, reading that, while listening to the Cubs on shortwave tonight. My wife procured a free subscription to The New Yorker magazine and between that and our usual subscription to Smithsonian I haven't been able to put those down lately. Cheers, http://www.facebook.com/CrazyAcesMusic |

Fascinating magazine. Next time I'm cajoled into getting another Girl Scout subscription (at behest of grand-daughter) that's my pick. I decided to try Wired, never again, complete lack of composition to actually be read by humans & a political agenda. Also, saddened that Popular Mechanics is (at my age) a thin shadow of its former self. Smithsonian is like money won before the cards are dealt. —Wes DISCLAIMER: The above is opinion/suggestion only & should not be used for mission planning/navigation, tweaking of instruments, beverage selection, or wardrobe choices. |

Wow, that would've been awesome! How long have they had that? Back before .mil & I finally parted ways in '80 I spent some time at the Pentagon and would've had to take a week's leave just to get a taste of everything there is to do - like moth to flame for this kid. One of a handful of places worth actually crossing the river from VA for. Girl Scout time is coming up so that's on my list, no matter what Grandma orders. —Wes DISCLAIMER: The above is opinion/suggestion only & should not be used for mission planning/navigation, tweaking of instruments, beverage selection, or wardrobe choices. |

I have not read a Stephen King book since the 80ies but this one really impressed me. Fascinating story about time traveling and the JFK assassination. Very nice descriptions of life in the early 60ies. Even Dick Dale is mentioned Recommended! |

i just finished "Long Promised Road" a biography of Carl Wilson by Kent Crowley. Definitely only of interest to a Beach Boys fan, but a good read. My full review is posted at http://www.allmusicbooks.com/review/shadows-beach —Buy Speed of Dark @ Bandcamp |

Rereading this one. John Varley's 1st novel. Got more quazy innovative mind twisting ideas than a million genetically enhanced monkeys on LSD piloting a Russian BDR at warp speed 666 into the heart of the sun. —Da Vinci Flinglestein, The Syndicate of Surf on YouTube |
