So...it's the UK drummer instead! I'll be darned. Thanks, Surf Skater. Slowly but surely narrowing things down. Well, the next item then is to contact him and inquire about any album called "Surf Guitar" that either he put out or that particular song was compiled on. Once again, thanks for your very helpful reply. >[8 )

Anyone have any thought on these things, like have you ever heard of the album "Surf Guitar" featuring a Chris Blackwell and that song? I'm wondering if it's a long out of print, obscure compilation album. But even then, Google should have turned up something. Hm, well, maybe another case for the Surf Guitar Irregulars.

You seemed to have missed a few posts in this thread. We linked you to an older forum thread that discussed this song. It appears the song is library music, submitted in hopes that it will be used in commercials, film, TV, etc. That's why you see it it in so many random YouTube videos. It seems unlikely it came from an album, but you never know.

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

Hi chaps!

Thanks for the interest in my track 'Surfer Girl'. This track is indeed Library music, or if you prefer Production Music, and as such gets used for TV, radio, Film and so on, and of course YouTube, via my publisher Audio Network.

You can hear more of my stuff here: Chris Blackwell on Audio Network.

I'm not actually a guitarist I'm a drummer, played with ex Led Zep singer Robert Plant for 6 years from 1986-1992, but when I stopped touring I got into composition. Production Music is fantastic in that every day is different and I get to work in all areas of music. These days I am mainly writing for orchestras but may release a couple more Surf tracks if there is a project that calls for it.

Again, thanks for the interest! I often forget that the music that leaves my studio gets heard by other people so it's good to get feedback.

Speak soon!

Chris Blackwell

Hi Chris.

Malcolm from Fleet/Farnborough Hants area UK.

I played Surfer Girl tune several times it really is a sweet tune.
I'm wondering who the other talented musicians were.

Haaa, funny you should post this
I have been messing around with this tune a bit recently

It's got a haunting melody that I really like

I am adding an intro to it and altering it a bit here and there

I have to get back on it and finish it

This is my first rough take just to see how the guitar sounds

Wow, EL34, that's mighty fine for a rough take. And the guitar sounds great.

Thanks, but I think I am going to speed it up a bit

It's at the original tempo of 120 bpm

I tried it much faster and I like it better

I will post a link later of a faster tempo and see what you think
