Hi there
I'm in England and I was wondering if anyone was interested in buying a black Yamaha SGV 300 off of me? Its in perfect condition save the whammy bar which is a standard strat rather than an original.
Any questions please ask and I can sent you pics.
Ben

Yes, a standard strat arm works on a SGV300. Looks a bit shitty, but it works.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but since we're talking yamaha's a whammy bars, I just picked up a blue EGV with no whammy bar. Standard strat bar didn't seem to want to fit. Any ideas on what might work, or do I need to contact the factory?
Also, back on topic, I agree with Ralph, post pics here.

Yeah no probs, I'll bang some up soon.
Yups I'm not sure where the bar went - replacement doesnt look as good but it doesn't look particularly out of place and it fits perfectly.

I once had a SGV300 with a Start trem arm. Better than no arm! I was happy with this. Hey, at last nobody cares about this is the stock arm or not if it works, really.
I would not sell a SGV300 for less money if only the arm is missing.
..ah! not to forget: Welcome to this forum!

Yo surfbeatslbc,
I picked up a blue EGV with no trem bar about a year ago. The shop who sold it to me (online) fitted it with some kind of strat-ish Fender bar and it worked just fine. I'd just take it into a local guitar shop and see what they have and what to suggest. I mean it's an EGV not a SGV so if it wiggles it works. Mine is stiff as hell but then I added extra springs to keep it in tune better. It's a workhorse- like the Man said 'like a ringin a bell'.

The OEM wiggle-stick for Yamahas has an odd threaded tip. I find normal manipulation of the whang-bar unscrews it. People using Loctite?
