Oh, we're counting basses? Pretty sure that brings me somewhere around 15.

4 Danos, 2 Yamahas, a Harmony Rocket that needs completely rebuilt, a Kay, my Silvertone Strat, some Epiphone Les Paulish copy something something that I never really liked and is on loan to my son, an Alverez acoustic, a junk Fender acoustic, a Gretch Jim Dandy parlour guitar
and The Swamp Thing which is some homemade single pup deale-o that I got through SG 101. Seems like I'm forgetting someone. Thought I had 13 + 2 basses...

I knew I was forgetting someone. Here's the link to the exact Rondo Liquid I got. Check out the price, case included! The thing rings like a bathysphere!

The only guitar problem I have is how to justify buying the next one.

1 Rational- I need it!

2- I want it!

3- I, I... screw it, I'm buying it. Monkey

I have three guitars.
1980s Rickenbacker 330 Mapleglow
Classic player jazzmaster - gigging guitar
60s lacquer jazzmaster - my favourite surf guitar.
That's it. just three guitars

(Don't ask about amps though....)

Those are 3 nice guitars. Resisting the urge to start a thread called
"How Many of Us Own More Than 3 Amps?"

I think my answer would be 7, 4 of which are pretty junky practice amps.

Woodman,

The history of that bass is seriously interesting, and I don't play bass. Someone connected with it played lead guitar (on a sunburst Strat and Silvertone Twin-12 combo amp) at the very first high school dance that I ever went to, (Briarcliff High School, Christmas formal 1959). It is right in there with Brian Wilson's bass that the Beach Boys bass player had (in Virginia Beach when the X-Rays opened for them). He opened the case and showed us that very special historical instrument.

I take a moment to admire your piece of history every time I pass by it. Marvelous.

ed

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

EK,

The last time I spoke with Paul (Goddard) before he passed away last year, he told me that he acquired it from Atlanta Rhythm Section guitarist J.R. Cobb, so maybe J.R. was the lead guitar player you saw back in the dark ages.

Paul used it on several pre-ARS studio projects including the Classics IV hits (Stormy, Spooky and Traces),Joe South and with Roy Orbison's backup band, The Candymen in the early '70's before he switched to a Peavey bass, then a Rickenbacker.

Nice bass, Woody! Cool pedigree. Paul Goddard was a monster bass guitarist. I hadn't heard that he had passed. RIP.

Now THAT is a man committed to the traditional burst! Great looking collection Sir Jeep Thumbs Up

Reminds me of a strategy I think Mr. Katcher has written about (I think it was him anyhow)... always buy the same color guitars so as to conceal how many there actually are from the casual onlooker. Genius.

Most people who are really into guitar playing will have multiple instruments...I think that's a given....I have 9. But only
use 4 of them on a regular basis these days.

Thank's Onslow, at some point I did let the majority take the lead. (BTW the Jeep's are all blue Smile ).
