Permalink Chromatic pedal tuners that don't cost $100?

When I say degrades the tone, it's probably something the audience doesn't notice, it's just one of those things where you notice that your guitar is all of sudden less audible, or you need to play harder to make it sound right. Nothing drastic, but enough to annoy me where I don't enjoy playing and concentrate on that instead of my playing. And again, the more guitars in the band, the more reverb and the faster the songs, the more these little things get important.
Regardless if our ears suck or not, I think if I saw you play with that Boss pedal I wouldn't have noticed, but if I got it and started playing, I would have noticed something didn't feel right.

But maybe I should stop theorizing about a pedal I don't have (and stop sounding like people I don't like).
Bottom line - Fender Pt-100 - ok, but not great.
Boss- could be great, I don't know. At least 2 cases of positive reviews, see above.

Thanks,
Ran

I used the Boss at the Satan's Pilgrims gig.

And our guitarist owns the Fender and he won't use it live or at practice. He just uses it as a on the side tuner these days.

Ran,

I'd seriously consider trying the new tuner with a different set of cables, both in and out.

And yes, the audience may not notice anything wrong, but if you do, then you tend to internalize it, and from there, things go to hell in a handbasket in a hurry. Sad In some way, the audience will catch on that you aren't a happy camper about something, even if they can't figure out what's buggin you.

And for the record, I wouldn't go so far as to say that Jacob's ears suck. They may be less sensitive due to his recent illness, but saying that they suck is pushing it, IMO. Smile

My reported earlier hearing problems are history. I have full hearing back and no tinnitus that was really annoying.

I have a lesser musical ear than most people. I can't pick much out songwise.

Glad to learn that the ringing in your ears is gone. Now you know with certainty that it really is the phone! Twisted Evil

Musical ear.... practice makes perfect, like anything else in life. Smile
