I have five fucking Jags... And three Harmony-made acoustics with the same body shape...

The only reason I am replying to this is because I want too see how this has changed when this thread is bumped again 6 years from now.

  1. Gibson Les Paul Tradition Pro (Sunburst)
  2. Mosrite Excellent (Sunburst)
  3. AVRI Stratocaster (Sunburst)
  4. AVRI Jaguar (Surf Green)
  5. American Standard Telecaster (Mystic Red)
  6. Fender "Big Apple" Stratocaster (Shoreline Gold)
  7. Taylor "Big Baby" Acoustic

I'll list up...

1.) 1964 Gibson ES-355
2.) 1960 Fender Jazzmaster
3.) 1970 Harmony Made Buck Owens American
4.) 1962 Gibson J-50
5.) 1969 Harmony-Made Fender F-50
6.) 1962 Harmony H165
7.) 2005 Gretsch 6120-DSW
8.) 1957 Supro Belmont
9.) 1954 Harmony H-6
10.) Squier Bass VI (heavily modified)
11.) Shell Pink Jag, 1965 Neck
12.) Blackout Jag
13.) Inca Silver Jag 1964 Neck
14.) Sherwood Green Jag 1966 Neck
15.) 1999 Fender Jaguar (heavily modified)
16.) Shitty Acoustic
17.) Shitty Acoustic that I love
19.) 1975 Yamaha D-35 Lawsuit Copy
20.) Ibanex GAX (First guitar)

Those are some impressive lists, gentlemen.

I've had a few come and go since the last audit.

Gone:

MIJ Jazzmasters (White and Sunburst) I loved them, but........
One of the Teles (I can't play them anyway)
Hallmark 60 Custom Sunburst (Didn't quite bond with it so.........)

Added:

AVRI Jazzmaster, snuck it home from LA the last time Jack, Mike and I played out there, Beautiful sunburst and very light.
MIM Strat (Olympic White....of course) Not sure exactly why I bought it...I do keep trying though.
2010 Memphis Custom Gibson ES-355 Cherry red. Recent custom killer setup, wink wink........ You are right Jake, these are serious guitars.
The return of THE 1965 Sunburst Jazzmaster, Woody was so gracious he allowed me to beg it back. Recent killer re-fret, wink wink.............

No new amps, Did upgrade the Adat XT-20's last year to an HD-24 hard disk recorder.

I need to re-do the family portrait.

ed

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

1997 Fender "California Series" Strat - candy red - converted from HSS to Fat 50s singles x3
2012 Fender "Jeff Beck Artist Series" Strat - oly white - changed to SSL-1 single coils
2015 Fender Classic Player MIM Jazzmaster 3-tone sunburst
2011 Gibson Les Paul 60s Tribute Studio goldtop w/P90s
Early 1990s Fender MIM P-bass with new electronics - ocean turquoise
Simon & Patrick cedar cutaway acoustic

  • various other pieces of cr-p with 6 strings that are not worth noting...

We're supposed to count 'em?

Okay, more than three and less than twenty here.

There is a reason mine was first on my list! There is something to be said about added string length behind the bridge and a shallow break angle.

I've downsized somewhat since the 2008 post, sold most of the vintage and duplicate stuff and added a few new ones. Here's the current inventory which should remain stable since these are the ones I have no intention of letting go:

One of these days I'm going to submit a "I love gold guard Fender basses" thread and I'll tell the story of the real '57. I've had it for 35+ years. It's history is pretty interesting, at least it might be to another bass player.

10, thats enough . . . but I just saw a really nice Jazzmaster on ebay

'Surf Music Lasts Forever'

Hi !
Since forty years, I owned 11 guitars.

Currently I have 3 : Fender Stratocaster Deluxe, Squier Jazzmaster VM and G&L Telecaster. I play most with Strat.

Unfortunately, I am not in a band.

Strats are the biggest part of my collection. Every one of them is different from the other in some way. That's why I love a strat.

Ron Kirn Custom Jaguar
Ron Kirn Custom Jazzmaster
Ron Kirn Custom Strat
Rocketfire Relic Strat
Suhr S3 Pro
Suhr Custom Modern Antique
Whitfill Tele
Hallmark 60 Custom
Takamine GS330S Acoustic

14...including 2.5 basses.

The Hicadoolas

Oh, we're counting basses? Pretty sure that brings me somewhere around 15.

4 Danos, 2 Yamahas, a Harmony Rocket that needs completely rebuilt, a Kay, my Silvertone Strat, some Epiphone Les Paulish copy something something that I never really liked and is on loan to my son, an Alverez acoustic, a junk Fender acoustic, a Gretch Jim Dandy parlour guitar
and The Swamp Thing which is some homemade single pup deale-o that I got through SG 101. Seems like I'm forgetting someone. Thought I had 13 + 2 basses...

I should get a 12 string or a Bellzouki. Yeah...

I guess the maximum number of guitars I had in 2009 or 2010 - seven
Fender Standard Telecaster
Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster
Fender 62 AVRI Stratocaster
Gibson SG Standard
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Gretsch 6118
Gretsch Duo Jet

but now only three
Fender Standard Telecaster
Fender American Standard Stratocaster
Yamaha SGV 300

mostly financial reasons, love guitars and want more of them!!!

This is why I buy cheap guitars- you get more of them and if you get in a squeeze you won't get that much for them anyways so why bother?
