Transmission just received from Willie Mars.

Episode 28.....Beat the Drum........Every wondered what drummers think about stuff???......me either, but it is cool to take a snapshot of some of the drums and drummers that keep our time and perforate our eardrums with loud, loud, surf-rockin-beats......

Yes, some of the biggest names in surf-drumming here on Surf Guitars from Mars have arrived.....The 427's with Tama (possibly???).....The Grande Bois bashin' Pearl....Aloha Sluts beatin' a Gretsch... The Tsunamibots with titanium shells and human skins..(yuk)....Jimmy Strings programmin' his machine set to TRAD...Hypnotide bashin' an orange and sparkly kit (c'mon Larry, get it together!!)......and Luau or Die lovin' a Yamaha and nice 8 incher.....The Sub-Vectors rock-out Ludwigs....and The Burnin' Sands show us what Sonor can do for you, and surf.......

Future bands of the week..Stevie Earworms and Los Kanibales Surf Combo help me out with some mood music...then Marshall and the Martins drummer Martin takes us home with some real drummer's insight into drums and tunes that are cool...because of drums and drumming .......

Tune in Sunday on Surf Rock Radio...everywhere....every day.......yeah

Sorry I missed last week, as I was stuck on a plane in Singapore.

Episode 30: Molly's Melodrama.....Ready to do yourself a favour? Listen to Surf Guitars from Mars on Sunday ...and then again during next week, cause you're gunna get to know our newest musical friend here on Mars...Stevie Earworms......our latest band of the week from Brighton in the UK, Stevie brings us an awesome original surf-instro sound....he also takes part in a vocal / garage kinda ensemble known as.... Army of Molemen.....we're gunna slip some of that in too....
Because we like to put things in sets and such, we're gunna kick things off with singing, and a lovely bunch of love songs to boot, featuring The Barbarellatones...Army of Molemen... The Blue Giant Zeta Puppies....and The Bingers
Anonymous Henchmen get a run, as they prep for their upcoming feature on SGFM the week after Stevie... West Samoa Surfer League rock us out with the tune that played right before Marshall and the Martins first ever radio play, what a memory....then The Fuzziyama Surfers....take me back to Japan, and all the stuff I love about being there...octopus and beer...and Family Mart stores.....
The Turbosonics..Os Aquamans...Surf Out...Los Oxidados, make their SGFM debut....while The Mystery Men?... The Orbitrons...keep it real, and surfy - instro....
Mood music will include Los Mandragora.Hypnotide.. Hot Rod Surfers..Genki Genki Panic and, from the home of The Shrunken Head Lounge Surf Radio Show Show.....The Farfisas....
Do yourself a favour, tune in and catch the newest and best sounds of the world of surf-instro, right here on Surf Rock Radio....Sunday....

And tonight....

Episode 31 - Des and Daphne.....Time for Australia's favourite couple to move over and give the stage to Henchmen #21 and #24.......two of the spokespeople from our latest Omaha Band of the Week. Anonymous Henchmen........
We compromise the anonymity of these Henchmen this episode, with the hard-hitting, cutting-edge, getting-to-the-bottom-of-the-surf-story kind of journalism that Surf Guitars from Mars is known for...around the world....
Running decoys for the Henchmen are some big names in the Surf Rock Radio land of surf instro....bands like....The AmpFibians......Eugene and the Sampletones...Dr. Triton.....The Apollo Four......Genki Genki Panic.....The Jimmy C....Hypnotide. Los Galerna....Los Kanibales Surf Combo....Los Mandragora......The Original Onions...Urban Surf Kings .Rapido T Lusso Duo........and, recently a band of the week..tHe TiKi CReePs...
We get some mood music from The Grande Bois...Expressway Sketches...Urban Surf Kings...The Dead Rocks and Dr. Frankenstein....oh yeah, don't forget, Marshall and the Martins and our newest official theme intro tune house-band..Monsters from Mars.......

Episode 32: Horror Mooo-vie...right there on my TV.......here on Surf Guitars from Mars, we don't hear much glam..in fact, we thought that glam was done and dusted once Skyhooks gave it away...but we were wrong.....
Why didn't someone tell us that glam is not only alive and well, but it can also be mixed with SURF, which makes it SURF-GLAM...and we could have been listening to it for the last 10 years or more?????
The Barbarellatones....surf-glam-band of the week.....bringing us all things cool in surf, glam, dressing up, and keeping it real....we hear from Robbie, the frontman surf instructor, sitar player and poet....telling us how glam and surf have met, they are goin' steady, and they live between Hawaii and California, and they ROCK! What a life....
We lean on the garage kinda stuff this week too, not all instro, and we keep the cool surf inspired thing going with some of our surfiest faves like Le Roxy Pro and Broadfoot.....plus some cool songs about cars and girls from Dr. Triton and ...3Speed Dragster ..
We got new and old instro surf, takin us into and out of this surf-glam wave.....new stuff from Moms I'd Like To Surf... The EXOTICS...and a coupla oldies from Insect Surfers...and Luau or Die
Mood music, essential for the conversation, this week brought to us by The Mighty Swells..The Huaraches...Moonbase....Stevie Earworms....The Tsunamibots....The TomorrowMen....Marshall and the Martins...and...Phantom Operators ( Mortis)...
So let's keep livin' in the 70's for one more week at least, starting tonight at 9pm in Brisbane Australia for example ..on Surf Rock Radio, . And remember....Ego, is not a dirty word.....

In less than 3 hours.. and throughout the week on www.surfrockradio.com

Just in from Willie Mars

Episode 33 - Snowtown........Ready for something scarier than bodies in barrels????.......It's the first Halloween inspired scary horror-death-poltergeist-murder-monster-ghost instro/surf for SGFM, and it's not even Halloween......and guess what....it never is, cause some of us live in Australia and we don't do that here.....we do some crazy stuff......but not Halloween.......oh well
Someone who Halloweens all day every day... like it's 1999....is our band of the week, from Seattle......Thee Imperial Royales............in touch with the dead, and capturing all things horror in music and awesome video clips to boot.....
We dug up some corpses to support Thee Imperial Royales on their quest......and those corpses told us to play some tunes by The Alder Kings....Antisocial zombie club....Audios Amigos....Beertubes and even Marshall and the Martins...........we also heard that The Blue Giant Zeta Puppies....Rapido T Lusso Duo.......Los Cowabungas.....and The Grande Bois...could help us raise some hell........
So, like a snake crawling along the edge of a straight razor.......get ready for..the horror....the horror...........tonight on Surf Rock Radio....in about 3 hours time, if it was 20 minutes from now........
then repeats all week, check the schedule............

Now that I've cracked the code at work and have navigated around the company's repressive web protocols I can say with real feeling that Surf Rock Radio is indeed a happening place to relax your eardrums and stretch those cilia thingys we all seem to have and to get down and (then) get back up again. I just now enjoyed the Surf Zombies and am now being assaulted by something called Out of Site and here comes Le Roxy Pro who have singers (!) as a part of the band. Hard to describe them other to say they put down a hazy lazy sonic vibe and the singer(s) sweet to the earwax.

So they play surf and then some. Not a bad place to be.

And they do those weird movies trailer things like Island of a 1000 Burning Teenage Catgirl Corpse Cults. So Kool!

Thanks Syndicate for the kind words!

It doesn't seem like we get much radio play these days so we're really thankful to be played.
Always a thrill to be spun on the airwaves.
