I've only every heard a few tracks here and there from Los Belkings but through the magic of YouTube just discovered much more stuff. A mix of surf, Eleki, Ventures and Shadows. Great stuff!

BIG fan of theirs, 2 LPs and ~5 45s. I love the mix of surf, cumbia and psych that was stewing in in Peru.

Does anyone know the story behind "La Playa" written by Jo Van Wetter?? It's a tune done by a few instrumental bands. I remember it from when I was a kid. Los Belkings version is killer. They turn it almost into a spy theme!

Damn! Just found this! "La Playa" was a hit for Claude Ciari in 1964. The melody of this song is amazing.
