I've only every heard a few tracks here and there from Los Belkings but through the magic of YouTube just discovered much more stuff. A mix of surf, Eleki, Ventures and Shadows. Great stuff!

BIG fan of theirs, 2 LPs and ~5 45s. I love the mix of surf, cumbia and psych that was stewing in in Peru.
This is a favorite of mine from that era

This is the first time I've seen freneticos.net, really cool site!

Does anyone know the story behind "La Playa" written by Jo Van Wetter?? It's a tune done by a few instrumental bands. I remember it from when I was a kid. Los Belkings version is killer. They turn it almost into a spy theme!

Damn! Just found this! "La Playa" was a hit for Claude Ciari in 1964. The melody of this song is amazing.
