Im thinking of changing my band name, mainly because the band kind of crapped out and I have to get a new drummer and bassplayer now.

Everything from trad stuff like The Lively Ones to more 60's garage type like the Sonics. The songs I write are pretty aggressive but I like stuff like The Ventures too. |

I'm partial to Globster. That one does it for me. |

what's wrong with your current screen-name, that's a great name for a band! ... oh wait. I too vote for Globster.... maybe "The Globsters" ? or just "The Lobsters" .... gives all kinds of ideas for cool graphics and artwork too. —Rules to live by #314: |

I vote for other. Maybe I vote for Cachalots but I don't know what that is(i just googled it, yahooed rather). Can be pronounced phonetically as the cock a lots though. Sea Lice seems like you guys would be 80 years old playing sterile ventures covers. Also, I had no idea what a globster was until I looked it up. So I wouldn't vote for that either. What is the current band name? Probably stick with that unless you come up with something new. |

Naming a band is always a pain. A lot of the bands have names that sound like surf names, but none of the ones you mentioned scream 'surf' at me (and I admit ours doesn't either)..... Howabout .. Whatever you choose, 6 months down the line you'll never give it another thought. One of the cover bands I play in has a really terrible name (not saying!) - but we've been called that so many years no one thinks about it anymore - its just us. If people don't know you though, then I guess you need a name that will make people want to check you out. —http://www.myspace.com/thepashuns Youth and enthusiasm are no match for age and treachery. |

One of the greatest band names from the 60's (IMHO) was "Steve & The Emperors" (they did a great "The Breeze & I" cover). So I was watching Futurama and it hit me: Steve and the Hive Minds from Omicron Persei 8 —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

remember Odo, the hyper correct changeling from Star Trek? How about "The Psychedellic Odos" for a bandname? I like that name lot. and of course, again, the ideas for album covers and stage suits present themselves naturally.

seriously though, I personally wouldn't choose a bandname with a groce connotation like globster or lice. too much of a not-so-good adolescent punkband name. my 2 cents. —Rules to live by #314: |

I like Globster because it has a spooky, 60's science fiction feel to it. (Felini has a Globster in one of his early films) Plus Globsters are found in/around the sea and nobody knows exactly what they are or were. a Cachalot is a whale, but since its portugese or French maybe, who knows how to say it. I was thinking 'catch alots' Sea lice is a term I just recently learned from surfers around here, apparently they are baby crabs that hang out in nthe millions and if you swim through them they will bite you as you get out of the water. Now I thought that was cool. Sorry, nothing with the word 'kitten' will do. The Dead Ones is kind of cool, but that has to be a zombie band already doesnt it? Im mnot too keen on wearing goulish makeup and fake blood. |

Sorry, but no one knows what a Cachalot or a Globster is. What are people going to think when they see Globster or Cachalots on a flyer or marquee? Sea Lice is just too punkish as WR said. I think you need to go back to the drawing board. Danny wrote "The Deadly Ones", not the "Dead Ones". Wasn't The Deadly Ones a real band from the 60's? Great name. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

The Clap would be a cool band name. Named after the STD of course... I was going to name my band that but I feel it would be a better fit for you guys. Just cause I'm generous. |
