Clint, I had not heard of your number 1 pick until now. Listening to them on bandcamp. They sound great! Thanks for introducing the, to me. Rev PS. Reason #6428 why SG101 is so cool! —Canadian Surf |

Thanks Rev H. I generally don't fall in love with a band, but these guys are great! From Spain. They play lots of covers, but what I love is the uniqueness and freshness on they way they approach the songs. Take Buzombis for example. At first you think it's going to be your standard cover of "Hall of the Mountain King", but they start there and end up all over the map with it. So many of their songs are like that. I find it extraordinary and inventive. Check it out.... |

“Instros Only” – Playlist for Thursday, September 17, 2015 Two hours of all instrumental music. {{{{{{{{{{{{ Misc. Genre Instros }}}}}}}}}}}} The Tikiyaki Orchestra The Beatles Jeff Beck Cal Tjader The Outta Sites Tim Coffman The Romancers The Aqua Velvets Herb Alpert Paul Buskirk Dave Edmunds The Allman Brothers Band Hugo Montenegro James Wilsey {{{{{{{{{{{{ Surf Instros }}}}}}}}}}} Satan’s Pilgrims TomorrowMen Paul Johnson ~~Os Brutus Los Venturas Boss Fink The Turbosonics The Other Timelines The Beachbreakers The Madeira Atomic Mosquitos Trabants Les Surftronics {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} ~~ At this point of the show, I began ‘training’ three new student DJs. They are all brand new to KCR and I showed them the workings of the console and everything else in the studio that they will need to know to do their own show. I love teaching new DJs, but to try to run the show, explain what I’m doing, answer questions and keep up the playlist (which I type up as I go) became overwhelming. So the playlist was the first to go. Again, at this point of the show, all I know is that I played songs off the listed CDs and also some tunes off my i-pod that I do not remember, so those are not on this week’s playlist. The good news, there is a very renewed interest in KCR radio on the campus of SDSU, and that is a very good thing! I believe all slots are filled (6am – midnight, Monday – Sunday) and many have two or three co-hosts per show. Last edited: Sep 19, 2015 11:14:56 |
