Inspired by this thread.

The Exotic Guitar of Kahuna Kawentzmann

You can get the boy out of the Keynes era, but you can’t get the Keynes era out of the boy.

This music is SO Great! I'm a sucker for that guitar sound in the last one. Thanks for posting these!

OK, some of my (many) favorites that are available on YouTube. The third one down is my preferred version of "Funky Fanfare" (as opposed to the more orchestral version used by Tarantino).

The Scimitars

Kick, great KPM selections! There used to be some podcasts by Carl Howard of Luxuriamusic.com with lots of KPM.

BTW, I once shook Peter Thomas hand when he visited his product manager and they passed my desk on the way to the roof terrace. Just saying.

Thanks Kawentzmann I actually tried to find "International Intrigue" on YouTube, but couldn't find it...that one is much more appropriate for SG101, having some cool Bass VI like sounds.

Some more, turns out a lot of the ones I remember from the Instructional TV shows in Israel, were also used for NFL highlight showss.

Thanks Kick, great selections. In case of the KPMs the groove is as good as groove gets - I suppose that’s why they get sampled in Hip-Hop so much.

The jazzy ones are perfect, the arrangements are inspired and expressive. Not to mention the playing! I guess with music being a daily job that is where the talented guys arrive sooner or later. I sometimes wonder about the ratio of good tracks that made it into tv versus the ones nobody in the general public really ever heard. Maybe there’s a parallel universe where to each great library track there IS a tv show that everybody knows.

In any case what great way to feed the family. Here’s some more:

Indeed. A lot of these library tracks show up in all kinds of places. I've heard bits in Monty Python and in lots of exploitation movies and trailers.

Two awesome uses are Something Weird Video using The Hellraisers for their DVD opening, and Funky Fanfare which was the Feature Presentation bumper in the 70's in movie theatres. Taratino "lifted" this later for his Grindhouse releases.

The Something Weird "Hell Raisers" use got me to have the Sand Devils cover it many years ago, but I nixed it from the setlist after a few times, due to not-swinging-enough vibe in the performance.

Some other uses beyond exploitation movies:
David Lindup Aquital was used in Deep Throat
Mods and Rockers was used in German porn flick from the 70s

These are some awesome selections.
Thanks for sharing them. I love this stuff.
We also "borrowed" the "feature presentation" clip for our "Kikobella" video

Cheers,
Jeff
