Big fan of Wacky Packs! I wasn't using them as inspiration per se but I dig that vibe. I wanted to find an artist that actually did art back in the 60's on dragsters and TOM KELLY came to mind. He makes regular appearances at local hot-rod shows and drag racing events. Tom Kelly is a pioneer pin-striper and "weird-o" artist who was partners with Ed "Big Daddy" Roth in the early days. He is a genuine legend in the field and he still works today! Stoked to have had him do our cover art!!! BTW, he wants to do more stuff for bands, so everyone should feel free to contact him! Good times at SG101. Truly appreciate the great response we got from everyone!!! All the bands were great with so much variety in style! We got some people dancing and sold tons of CD’s and shirts! Thanks to Big Tiki Dude for putting us on the bill with these stellar groups. All fantastic players! Two highlights for me were the Jim Messina and the Jesters tribute, I really dig his stuff and they pulled it off, plus one of my all time heroes Davie Allan reunited with his double neck Mosrite from Blues Theme. Great stuff.
