For players wanting to practice up for the super group "Baja" jam (highly recommended!), I provided a BAJA DRUMS-ONLY BACKING TRACK HERE.
Hope someone finds it useful!
Sorry I cannot attend in-person. Wishing all attendees a great time! Looking forward to the written accounts and videos.
Best - Dick

To all my fellow musicians who are doing a couple tunes with me. I will have my motorhome in the parking lot early saturday morning before the show. Feel free to knock on the door and rehearse any last minute details beforehand if you want. Cheers, see you there. Rock!

Billy Blastoff and Don Schott and Big Tiki Dude and Mom Surfing and everybody else, I'm really gonna miss playing with and meeting you all! I will be listening to the streaming radio broadcast on Saturday.
I gotta get up at 6am to hear it from the start.

SURF GUITAR 101 Convention , what a stellar event !
Loved it ! And would like to say thanks and congratulations on a great job well done to my performing comrades : the Chola - Yannick Peings , LA Dave 65 Gillman (classically trained reedman ) , Myles Couchsurfer87, Big Papu - Adrian Castiñeira, Billy Blastoff Scanlan , Surfbeatnik - Duff Paulsen, Big Wave Dave Becker, Scotty Bravo Kowitt, mom Carol Busby Surfing & LHR - Trey Rhodes. Loved making music with you and always glad to have you as friends.
Special thanks to Billy Blastoff Scanlan for mentoring me through a metamorphosis as a lead player on California Dreamin' and the for the run through with Big Wave Dave at the motor home. That was fun and reassuring.
Group hug thanks to a supreme organizer, patient diplomat and grand MC for the members Jam - Mom Surfing Carol Busby and visionary Jeff Big Tiki Dude.
(missed you ) mr. Backwards Kim Sweeny ( we held your place in spirit ) Going to the Magic Castle Tuesday - thanks for the invitation! It's not too early for me and I STILL have to drive.

Was my bass too loud or was it just the strings?
Great seeing and meeting new friends.

You are SOOOO right. And it takes a long time sometimes to find a life companion and I love her dearly. And she loves surf music! Also, when people ask her "how many guitars does don have?" ,; she says: " what, you are supposed to count them!" ... I found the right one..❤️

It was a pleasure sharing the stage with you Don! You did an excellent job on lead guitar on California Dreamin', and your a bass player! You went above and beyond. You rocked it my friend! Sorry I had to split, I had a gig in Burbank later that day. Another epic SG101 Convention Show. Congrats Jeff! Well done! Cheers!

I don't know. There is always at least 2 people taping the whole thing, but I have no idea if/when it will surface.
