The Mai Tai Bar Rumble in Long Beach is now accepting band submissions until JUNE 3, 2007 for consideration to perform at the August competition.
Entry is free, and bands will be considered for the limited number of performance slots based on their CD submission and overall musicianship. Selected bands will be notified 3 weeks in advance of showcase date. Each week, a panel of judges will select the band with the night's highest score to advance to a finals round.

The bar stocks up on supplies. Scores of anxious musicians ready their bands. Hundreds of people plan their Thursdays. The word is out. The Rumble is alive in Long Beach.
One by one, acts will take the stage. Soloists and ensembles will come to compete for cash and prizes â
and, almost as importantly, to perform at the Mai Tai Bar, one of the best venues for live entertainment in Long Beach. Some of the acts have a lot of experience performing in front of crowds; some have even recorded.
Others are fresh to the scene. But they all have one thing in common. Theyâve been hand-selected for participation what will be on of Long Beachâs most exciting music competitions: The Mai Tai Rumble!
2006 will mark the 6th installment of the Mai Tai Rumble in Oahu and the 1st installments in Long Beach California and Daytona Florida. The event has proven itself as an entity with a life of its own.
The list of success stories goes on and on as Mai Tai Rumble champions, runners-up and even non-placing acts see their musical careers take off. Groups such as Reign, Epic Session, Red Degree, and the No-no Boys have all released CDs since participating in the competition. Acts like Pohaku, Hot Rain, and Wrecking crew went on to secure regular gigs at the Mai Tai Bar, and other local hotspots.

Not to poo poo on Tims recomendation, I think its cool that he found this and posted it here.
But I have a feeling that the people that regular that venue would not be into surf at all.
just my opinion though, I do wanna go there nad check it out,
and if a surf band was there, it would make it all the better.
but they need to pump up the jams and raise the roof.
and get jiggy wth it.
