Here's another instrumental. It has some flaws that I'll be able to correct later (and apologies for the bass sound, I haven't transferred this off my lapto to my main DAW where my sample libraries are better). This one was mostly an exercise in seeing how much I could get out of this chord progression without adding new sections.
Your feedback is always appreciated.

Nice tones. In my opinion the bass is too loud and it distracts from the melody and the other instruments. For a full and audible sound on the bass you might need to add harmonics when you decrease volume.

Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, my laptop system is not hooked up to real monitors, so I do the best I can with it, but have no fear! Once I get this stuff transferred over to my main DAW, I'll be able to use better instruments and hear what is really happening with the frequencies. That bass sound is actually a Karplus-Stong modeling synth in FL Studio (Boo Bass). I'm surprised it was even tolerable enough to compose with! haha.

Luckily I listened to it through my monitor's speakers so the bass sounded nice and matched the volume of the other instruments. A couple neat ideas in there; let me know when you write a bridge to break it up.
How did you record the guitar? I'm always trying to see who goes direct through a box and who mics. Loud volumes are frowned upon at my current locale, so I often go direct.
Best,

Thanks! I am already hating it, but that always happens.
I used S-Gear for the amp sim and various plugins. To me, the tones are a bit brittle, but that's due to the spring emulation plugin that I used and not S-Gear. S-Gear has a nice spring sound but it has almost no drip at all. I had to get that from Type4, a VST plugin. When I do this for real, I'll use both a real tank and also Topanga and a Polara pedal.
Cheers!
