YEP!! That footage of the Munsters band blew my mind when I first saw it. God bless YouTube and old 8mm cameras! The audio of the Munsters playing can be heard at minute 59:19 of this clip below. I would also say Jerry "The Phantom" Lott is the first masked rocker that I can think of. He came in '58. And Screaming Jay Hawkins dressed as a Voodoo Priest/Witchdoctor in '56 was the first with a wild costumed gimmick. His "I put a Spell on You" in '56 is pretty legendary.
