Someone gave me a modern player jaguar as a gift knowing I liked guitars like that. Does anyone on here have one are they any good for surf? I havent messed around with it too much but it seems pretty solid besides being made in China which I found odd for a fender instrument.

I heard mrmomo play one last Sunday, and he's bringing it to The Instro Summit to play. It sounded real good to me. Maybe he can share his experiences. John?

I've had a couple Modern Player Jags. Nice guitars!! Surf sounded fine on them even without the tremolo. I guess you could put a Bigsby on one but why mar an otherwise excellent guitar?

Ive played a bit with it now its a very solid guitar a bit on the heavy side but it makes up with a nice tone and attack does a good surf sound as well as great tones for alternative and indie. When distorted it gets very grungy
