I mean WOW!

'62 Showman w/ tone-ring cab

What the hell... This thing has never seen moisture...

I am impressed. A 16ohms D130? Is that what those amps initially came with?

The Hicadoolas

It's a damn nice amp, but those filter caps.....Yikes!

Otto & The Ottomans
Kennedy Custom Guitars

Yep those came with 16 ohm speakers.

ed

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Would you look at that?! Gorgeous!

MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New EP Louder Than Life available on bandcamp and website. Taking guitar lessons from Jimmy Dale.

Hold on there cowboy about claiming the cleanest looking 62 Showman has been discovered.

Now, I am claiming I have not only the cleanest, but also bestest looking n sounding Showman anywhere.

This bitchin looking blonde was the one Jim Messina used to envy (bought at Lopez House Of Music in Berdoo in 9/16/61) when we played at the Immaculate Conception Church hall for the CYA dances in 1962-64.

It took a trip across the sea to Viet Nam in 1967, then returned to the states in 1968, to kick back for about 30 years in my folks new home in Costa Mesa.

Around the mid 90's when I received word that someone was interested in some surf records my band cut way, way back in 1962, when I moved up to Riverside from Costa Mesa to hide out from a wife who had her mind on cleaning me out, the Showman also relocated up to Riverside where it has seen some sunshine when I get an occasional call to play for a surf revival festival or show.

Ok brothers, now trump that!

It stayed in s

Man, I am old, I forgot to add the photos. Hmmmm, where did I put the camera. Give me a n=minute, I gotta change my Depends.

Oh, on a side note I tossed in a very, very rare Showman my dad picked up from some country guitar player in 1960. I haven't seen another, but i am sure they are out there, probably made before Fender whipped up the piggy-back?

If you are claiming that your Showman is cleaner than the one that started this topic, let's see close up photos of your screws and your tube chart to make that determination!

Hard to believe it wasn't recovered at some point (not disputing, just commenting). Doesn't look like the head ever even got warm.
Nice classy guitar-porn, thanks Dario!
Thumbs Up

Yeah, it completely looks like a fake. But then you look at how clean the hardware is, screws, tilt back legs, that piece of 50 year old paper that looks new...

Wow! that combo Showman matches my combo Bandmaster! Do you think they are a matched pair?

"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been"

Supposedly there were some made for Webb's music.

Hey DaBoner, I was just tossing in some levity, trying to get a bite (which you bit, line n sinker) for some other Showmen owners to toss in some photos, HOWEVER, now that you initiated a "Papsi" challenge regarding asking me to put up or shut up, (just kidding around-don't take me serious) and get some photos of hardware, screws, tube chart, etc., if I can remember where I put my camera I will fetch it and pop some photos for ya.

On a side note it is amazing that after doing a tour of duty (16 months) in Nam, even considering the humidity there, my hardware has no rust. t,

Again, I had some free time this afternoon, so, I was just goofing off claiming my Showman was the bestest of all. I would never make a serious claim that anything I have is better than anyone else.

Wow Sonison, what is the history on your Bandmaster combo? That looks bitchin.' Is the JBL a 12" or 15."

I knew I would get some bites with my reply. That sucker look pristine.

What is it doing outside laying on the lawn: getting a suntan?

Chris, are you also a VLV-Tom Ingram alumni?

Dude... all I wrote was:

Probably not enough to get my name pronounced DaBoner, not enough for you to misconstrue was my calling you out.

To prevent misconceptions in the future, try not speaking in absolutes unless you want a response.

nm.

IMO.

yes - have you been?

"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been"

Done a few as the Majestics and Showmen.

Chris, it looks like you live in/nearby the Rockies, so, you gotta be associated with the cowboy surf band from Denver, da AquaSonics?

When I get the heck out of CA in the summer and head to Parker, AZ on the Colorado River, I try to get the band to don the western wear, but, they say no way Jose. I recall I even pulled one of your vids to support my request, but got no where.

If you are with the Aquasonics, you boys definitely got the verb sound of that only the Astronauts could get.

Back in the 602 I tried to play Baja but could never get their unique verb sound, so, my hat goes off to you.

I recall back in 1963 the Astronauts came out to San Bernardino Municipal Auditorium where we shared a billing with them. I think I still have the poster somewhere in the garage.

We though we were hot cuz we had a record playing on the local charts, beat Messina's Jesters and Genteels at a battle of the bands to get billed for the gig, but the Astronauts were a lot hotter; they had a tune on the national charts and an album. We were definitely the small dog.

It was a fun gig.
