Permalink Barb Wires at Surfer Joe 2015?

New Topic

Did I dream it, or were the Barb Wires scheduled to play this year's Surfer Joe? They seem to have disappeared from the line-up Cry

Oh. I was looking forward to that!

This happens, though. We were supposed to play last year, then our drummer quit. Argh

Yeah, it is disappointing about the Barb Wires given how few opportunities there are to see them (in England at least).

We were supposed to play last year, then our drummer quit.

That's very inconsiderate of your drummer. Are you still on speaking terms with him?

Oh, don't even go there! He persuaded us to have him replace our existing drummer, then assured us that he'd come to Italy, then right at the last moment left, leaving us looking a right bunch of berks. Luckily he fled to Spain so I'm not faced with the dilemma of talking to him (especially as we used to work in the same building).

I swear we've had more drummers than fans. Tony is our latest man, and he's doing very well...!

Will you be there? A very strong UK contingent this year, by the look of things.

Los Fantasticos

I am Big Grin (well, Saturday & Sunday at least). It's pretty well timed as the trip is a 40th birthday gift and it would seem to be one of the best line-ups to date.

How are you getting on with your new Strat?

Great; we'll see you there.

Slowly getting the hang of where everything is on the Strat. Not sure I'll be using it live for a while!

Los Fantasticos

I confirm that unfortunately we will not be able to have the Barbwires this year, differently than what was scheduled originally.

Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing them, but things happen. Luckily there a tonne of other excellent bands!

There is always at least one band at Surfer Joes that you've never heard of that blows you away. It's happened every year I've been so far!
