Hello!
I just found these forums and I thought I'd get some feedback from y'all.
I'm new at composing surf music, but an experienced listener lol.

I know I still need to work on it, specially with the drums. But if you could give me some feedback, that'd be nice.

Thanks!

Welcome to SG101 thiago2k5.
Sounding good!
One tip: try using different amounts of Reverb on the various guitar parts or even very little on some. This way the rhythm, tremolo or lead parts will stand out more.....

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks a bunch for your feedback, Jeff! I really appreciate it.
I'll keep that in mind when I record my next project and I'll make sure to post it here.

Welcome to sg101, thiago2k5! Very glad you're here.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Hey, welcome!

Sounds very good!
But after 2 minutes it is done for me...
I miss another part in this song.
Or just end it earlier. After 2 minutes I am getting bored...
There are many many surf songs with only 2 minutes and that`s it!
And maybe work on the lead melody. A bit catchier would be fine.
For me it is not a question of reverb there or there. A lot of reverb is always good.
My opinion. Smile

Twang cheers!

Thanks for your feedback, HallmarkSweptWinger! I agree with all of your points above. Maybe I was aiming for a longer tune because of my composing patterns (I mostly compose thrash metal tunes, which last longer than 4 minutes). And the "lack of creativity" of the lead guitar is mostly because of my little experience in composing within this genre. lol. I'll keep'em coming! Thanks again.

Oh, you compose mostly thrash metal? Cool! I like Thrash Metal also!
I would be happy if I could play or compose it... Smile

You know, at last there is no right or wrong in composing, if it sounds good it sounds good! If you like it, it`s good!

What do you think about getting some thrash metal elements into surf music?

(I remember the band Mr. Bungle for example, they mixed EVERYTHING. Swing R`n Roll, Exotica, Death Metal etc... Love it!)

Twang cheers!
