Be advised that the Encyclopedia of Sound albums contains song fragments meant to be used in films, commercials, radio jingos, etc. They were not meant to represent a "Los Straitjackets album". That is why it is so hard to find them.
I forgot about the "Sing Along With..." CD. There are a couple of good instro-nuggets on there, especially if you got the limited edition version with the extra mini-disc inside. I didn't really care for many of the vocal tracks on that CD.

I think the LSJ's finally realized it was better to put the Encyclopedia of Sounds cds on their site. Than to have people selling copies for 30 to 90 dollars. or to have people bootleg them.

Exactly. Originally those were available only to those in the "industry".

Brian, yes supposedly, but LA /Hollywood area is known for sending out lots of Promos, and the employees at some company's take those promos to
Record stores,
Matt Kora found a copy of each at Amoeba in LA while down here for shows one time, He let me make copies of them.
I saw one recently at Amoeba for 75 bucks,

I'd rather spend $75 dollars on a bunch of great CDs rather than spend it on one crappy collectable, LS or any other band.

I saw them live when they toured with Kaiser George, and that show was incredibly fun. I had already bought the Twist album before that, so I knew the new songs. I like that album quite a bit. Unfortunately, I missed them with Big Sandy, but I've been thinking of buying the CD.

I absolutely love everything i've heard by LSJ! and to go against the grain, i think "Twist Party" is right up there with anything else they've done.
It's not instrumental surf by any means, but as far as recording and overall fun factor, i think it's better than almost anything. If i want to enjoy myself, it is the cd i reach for. If i want great instro surf, well, then i take my pick of their other cd's, or any number of other great bands.

Yes, I love Daddy O'Grande's FAQ...!!!
I also forgot about the "Play Favorites CD". I found that in a pile of CD's near the practice room. It seems like they've been putting off another "real" instro CD for a while. Hope they get back to it eventually. I really do love those guys...

Hey. I just got 2 of the 6 shows Daddy-O Grande made here in Brazil and it was great! The Dead Rocks were baking him and they are a great band. All of their songs are avaiable to download at their website. www.deadrocks.com.br
I really enjoyed Daddy-O Grande CD and Eddie Angel's tribute to Link Wray and the Meet the Beatles albuns. The onle LSJ album I don't own yet is the Rock en Español, but I listened to it at yeproc.com and liked it a lot. But I'm waiting a new album like the first 2, that are the ones I like most.
