I've been working on doing a surf version of the B-52's Planet Claire. Wanted to see if their were any surf versions out just to see what's out and came up with this 1 that's pretty cool. Never heard of this band before but they are influenced by many different genre's of music.

She looks like a pissed-off Cleopatra. Great raw tones! Very cool.

Hadn't heard of The B-52s before? You are in for a treat if you look up their tune "Rock Lobster".

Surfer Rosa remind me of the surfy version of the Kills. I like it! Great stuff, thanks for the video! (It's not live, though, no matter what it says in the video - they're obviously miming to a prerecorded track...)

Everybody sorry re-read my first post and left out "heavy" surf version. I know who the B-52's are, hell I saw them live at least 4 times back at legendary CBGB's a very long time ago. Love lot's of there tunes just wanted to do a newer version of their Planet Claire song more heavier surf sounding. I watched a lot of heavy metal covers of this song but this band Surfer Rosa was really cool sounding.
IvanP, you are correct no way that's a live version cause some parts the guitar is strumming yet the guitarist is not. I checked out some of their other songs and they have a very unique sound. I'm not sure if they are now only a 2 piece band guitarist and singer using recorded drums and bass line to each song. If they ever come to the states i would definitely check them out.
