cicodelico is hands down the best Youtube uploader of surf instro obscurities . If you're not subscribed to his channel yet you are totally missing out.

Great tune! And a fine example of a pre-surf era recording that has the vibe. The LIVELY ONES did a fine version as well.

Don't think anyone has posted one of The Pyramid's coolest songs, "Contact"!

Pyramids rule! Here's two faves of mine, Bikini Drag and Record Run written by hot-rod gurus Gary Usher and Roger Christian. Both featured in the Frankie and Annette flick "Bikini Beach".

More in the Hot-Rod vein! Jim Messina and the Jesters awesome Dragsters LP. The LP kicks off with their hi-octane version of The Breeze and I. Stellar stuff.

Surf Teens - Point Surf, from Lost Legends Vol 1

I spent a good chunk of the weekend going through this great thread. There were a ton of familiar tunes that I hadn't heard in a while. Some songs that were brand new to me. And some that I thought were new to me but, in fact, were already in my iTunes library.
I'll post a couple of my favorites...

The Atlantics- Rumble and Run. Aussie Surf Gem. Here's an instrumental that tells a story. I really love the change at around the 1:58 mark. 1964, I think

The Astronauts are certainly not a lost band, but I think this tune is a lesser known gem. That Astronaut Drip drip drip drip... The Pier

And here's a cool Instro from Peru. 1963, I believe. Los Incas Modernos "Carnavalito"

And this has always been a favorite of mine. So rip roarin' aggressive!!! Is 1965 too late to be considered dawn of surf? Either way, it's a first wave masterpiece to my ears. Fender IV "Everybody Up"

That's a great video for Everybody Up.

I don't know who the guy is behind Starrfilms, but he puts out some killer stuff!

That's something I put together. I pilfered the footage from a Starrfilms youtube video, edited it and chucked on the Fender IV. Apologies to The Blazers who are actually the band in it.

Here's another, Archie Liseo & The Cineways - Homebrew (1965)

You did a great job with the video!

Do you know if Starrfilms has a youtube channel? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks David, had a lot of fun making it.

SURFSTYLEY4 is the name of the youtube channel. There's a link to starrfilms.com on the about page but the domain has expired.

Homebrew is a great tune! I never heard it before this. I think it's cool how the rhythm guitar is playing almost a lead-style run throughout. Some of the dudes in the video get seriously crushed too. Thanks for that. Cheers!!!

I got a nose ache just watching that.
